In my opinion.. i would not change the pouch to often. Well at least not daily tongue.gif i change mine every 5 days now.. sometimes a week baru tukar.. Because they are so accustomed to the scent that is on the pouch~ later if change too often, they will always need to get accustom to a new pouch smell. I experienced before that my suggies rather sleep outside in the bowl rather than the pouch cuz the pouch doesnt have his smell. doh.gif
*
Yes i did that with my others sg too wub.gif only change their pouch once a week. As changing everday is only my opinion on underage joeys cuz they cannot clean themselves and also don't know how to come out to poo and pee. So scare later their pouch full of their poo and pees after the 1st day >.< Cuz if pouch is not clean will have bacteria right?

Yup that is true.. a very uncleaned environment for an SG can cause to different kinds of bacteria. nod.gif thats why you need to clean the cage with good anti bacterial solutions like germisep. Or dettol (lightly used). But as you know gliders they can groom themselves too wink.gif they clean their fur and everything biggrin.gif we just need to worry about the cage part. Food can be easily splattered all around lol. Later the ants also become interested in the leftovers~ shakehead.gif

Wow.. so many underaged gliders lately... The earlier you adjusted back to the proper diet and housing, then the bigger chance they can survive. My Money used to be very underaged, but now she is doing really fine. biggrin.gif Thanks to BUGSY products.

Again, it's pretty normal for underaged joey for not eating much solid food or even HPW. Because they are in weak condition, their body and stomach still developing and not ready to take that kind of food yet. Go for milk replacer, it's more digestible for underaged joey.

Met amanda today, i guess his gliders will be fine, because at least i can see he putting effort in learning how to take care of the gliders. biggrin.gif

Keep it up ~~

dont keep your self bound by that, they is many glider owner here who does not use ANY HPW, or any SPECIAL diet to they glider, they glider is in excellence shape. it just suggest that if those diet is good CHOISES, not a MUST.

oh i see. got 1 thing that really bothers me. which is the insect that used to fly on the leftover food. look like the flys but abit smaller that 1. i dunno wat it calls. everytime i put their food there, on the 2nd day morning, sure got a few of the small flies on their leftover food. How can i get rid of that? Even after i clean their cage and spray all over the play, the little thing still go back. even i move their cage spot, from the toilet until my living room, still got @.@

A diet is a diet.. if you are given a diet.. would u just rather eat roti everyday? or would u rather have a good WHOLESOME meal, included with all the protein, vitamins to ensure that you are not gonna be damm thin.. or mal nutritioned. Ask yourself that. AS A GLIDER OWNER, clearly i want whats best for my gliders to ensure they grow up to in the most pink of health! I wouldnt say its a CHOICE, it is a MUST.. quite frankly!~ Having improper diet can cause a glider to get illneses like HLP (Hind leg paralysis), they could self multilate, bloat, indigestion.. they could even have other problems in the long run... i can drag this discussion very very long if i find my illness sheet.

TAKE NOTE that glider who have poor diet, appear to be more SCRAWNY, THIN, and WEAK if you compare with other gliders that have a GOOD AND STABLE diet. Gliders with a PROPER diet DO NOT smell as bad as gliders who does not have a proper diet. I suggest you go to Glidercentral and have a look around. THE VERY FIRST THING they take into consideration is DIET.. DIET DIET DIET.. because a glider with a proper diet and also proper lifestyle.. can live up to 14-15 years in captivity. Would u rather have a shorter lifespan glider? I think not.

It was already said, having a glider isnt cheap~ it also COMES with other RESPONSIBILITIES on top of it~ think about vet trips too.. if your glider gets sick..

Funny about this, since you SHOULD think about all this BEFORE buying/keeping a glider.

Would you mind name me the 'many glider owners' that never use proper diet for their gliders and their gliders are in 'excellent' shape or tip top health condition?

We are here to share and educate new owner to give and provide PROPER diet and care for sugar gliders, not simply chunk some leftover fruits/yogurt/cat food/dog food/ or whatsoever self recipe to the gliders.

If you really understand their need, then you should know a special formulated diet/recipe is NEEDED for their health sake.

If you always have tight budget, then don't keep gliders first until you are financially and mentally ready for the commitment.

SOrry ya, pls don feel offended.

That is fruitflies... they are really irritating... go DIY shop or DAISO, selling something that helps to eliminate this small creature.

Or u can use shakeera's special method, take a container or milo tin, put one piece of banana skin inside, then cover the tin with plastic tightly, then poke few tiny hole..the flies will go in but cant come out.

Agreed agreed. rclxms.gif

I personally experienced before la.. There are few gliders died before in my hand few years back because of dietary and housing issue. So, u should know how serious the impact is.
