Hi guys,
newbie here..
Want ask about SG diet..
How to balance the diet?
Based on my reading, they need 75% fruit+veggie and 25% meat..
As an extra information, i do breed cricket and king mealworm for my tarantula..
The problem is how to ensure the ratio is right? Still blur blur..
Yes,i do read the PDF table from 1st page..

By the way my SG is adult female approx. 1 years old. Izit ok to adopt mature SG?
Will take her next week..

Please help me as Im in love with SG since 3 years back.Just now got the chance and Im afraid i will not be able to serve the right food for her.

Thanks in advance.

A balance diet for me would be HPW. But there is actually a few more which u can choose from. Fruits and veges should be accompanied with that balanced diet smile.gif the mealworms are just treated as treats for your suggies if you feed on HPW. If you check the Cal : ph ratio table, you can see what kind of fruits and veges you can balance out when feeding. Just remember.. too much phos are not good XD Please remember depending solely on fruits and veges~ is a nono. Get at least 1 stable diet like HPW or BML or other diets.

You can view some discussion here at Suggie Nutrition 101 = http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=800472&hl=

Adopting mature SGs will require more time on bonding if the glider isnt tame. Is this gonna be your first glider? If it is, i hope you are a patient person tongue.gif else get a joey wink.gif

thanks for the reply. Looking forward for it.. smile.gif

So far she doesn't look very tame. How long will it take to tame it? I might play with her most of my time since all my tarantula are aggresive type tongue.gif

A diet is a diet.. if you are given a diet.. would u just rather eat roti everyday? or would u rather have a good WHOLESOME meal, included with all the protein, vitamins to ensure that you are not gonna be damm thin.. or mal nutritioned. Ask yourself that. AS A GLIDER OWNER, clearly i want whats best for my gliders to ensure they grow up to  in the most pink of health! I wouldnt say its a CHOICE, it is a MUST.. quite frankly!~ Having improper diet can cause a glider to get illneses like HLP (Hind leg paralysis), they could self multilate, bloat, indigestion.. they could even have other problems in the long run... i can drag this discussion very very long if i find my illness sheet.
Thank you guys. As I mentioned before, I didn't buy it yet. Still searching and gain info from reading. My big problem is I don't have any freezer at the moment. To buy sliced fruit and veg everyday is very very costly. What am I trying to do now is to find another solution which doesn't hurt my wallet too much. Of course I want the best condition for it since I spend big amount of money for SG itself.

@emino : read before you post shakehead.gif

@eric138 : I realized the impact. Thanks for sharing your experience. rclxms.gif

Anyway im not rushing to get one. I've been in love with SG since 3 years before, but now just got offer from friend who want to migrate for futher study. I need freezer & do more research i guess

It's good that you researched before getting the gliders.

There is alternative if u don hav freezer, use Bugsy Instant HPW, it's specially designed for those who don havĀ  blender or freezer. What you need to do is jus mix the Instant HPW powder with honey and water every day.

If you keep one glider or two, it's better and cheaper if u buy cut fruits. u don hav to buy everyday. jus buy 3-4packets, then it can last you bout 3-4days too. Keep it in air tight container, can last longer. That's what i do last time when i keep a pair of glider.

But now since i got more already, what i do is i buy whole/half biji of different fruits and vege, then cut one shop then put in container. one container for vege, the other one for fruits... Very convenient, i jus scoop few tablespoon every night then can serve..save time save energy~

Yup,read about Instant HPW. Good feedback by most of the user..
Air tight container, never think of it before. Thanks for your suggestion smile.gif

@emino : Sorry if u felt offended with my word. I do think more than that. Im not that lame. This is not just a hobby, its more to AMANAH for me.. My friend warned me about this before and he want me to keep him update with his SG. There is plenty of time to choose either im a suitable owner or not. Anyway thanks for remind me. Chill out buddy.. blush.gif

@jcmf : i see.. Thats what I think. Not compulsory to give as suggested all the time as long as the food contain everything they need. Thanks for it. I will read more other sources
