Welcome to LYN Tennis Thread v6

This thread is intended first and foremost for people to share and discuss about our favourite game - "TENNIS" and secondly to make new friends and to have fun on the court. Feel free to ask some of our resident sifus here on tennis equipments (racquets, strings, customizations), tennis techniques, great deals and places to play. Would love to have more active members posting their experiences and sharing their thoughts. Mostly let's keep this thread clean and try to STICK to tennis related talks though sometimes we can always have some fun jousting and poking at each other smile.gif

Have you tried return of serves with the Aerogel? I have hit with a aerogel 200 it was terrible returning serves esp kickers, always kena frame x-p

hey boyboy .. i already pass ur strings to carto just now in KJ...  aiyoh today play like shit ... i think the Babolat Revenge doesn't suite me at all man ... i put tension 56/54... no feel watsoever... very bad compared to my prev BC...  and definitely much much lesser power.... damnit.. i think i gotta take revenge on the strings tomorrow liaw n cut tat bugger and put on my Alu rough hybrid or the Pro hurricane tour hybrid... GRRRrrrr!!!

haha...aiyo cookie bro a...we finish playing liao lorr...haha..hmm,i feel like my exo3 black grip is quite small although my hand is not so big..maybe i'm jus used to larger size like L3..but if i put 2 layers overgrip,den cant feel de edges le..sigh..

pinky, thats why must get L3 in the first place lah... also even though overgrip can make up the difference it adds weight which u might or might not want. up to 10g per grip.

haha..no prob ck bro...hope u get well soon...how does it feel anyway,ur new strings...?my bc n prince lightning xx i don reli feel much difference to de alu power hybrid...not up to tat level to feel de exact difference...haha...but wat matters more to me,it's de colour of de strings...lol..nolarr....not thinking of selling it larr...unless someone's offering good price for it den i might consider...haha...but de L2 is okay wif me actly..can use..

cookie bro,put a thicker replacement grip wil oso make us feel less from de hexagon shaped handle rite?lol...

but i've a major problem..my forehand is so shitty...de trajectory of de bal...it owes fly too high or kena net..i don reli hit de ball forward ar..like bro yan say,i brush up not forward...i dono how to correct it n improve..it frustrates me at times..i prefer backhand to forehand now..haha..it's not any better anyway...

Trust me when I tell you if you have high net clearance AND good depth, not many people will able to attack your forehand if your ball lands short ie within the service box, be prepared to run, or watch the winners past you by.

In all seriousness, don't HATE your forehand, but try work hard to improve it, ask your hitting partner to hit more to your forehand side, naturally if you have coaching, it will improve, without coaching it will also improve but may take longer, no? :-p

@pinky, you can try out this babolat grip customization kit. it will increase your grip size fr l2 to l3 etc.... it's sold at sportprises at rm49 i think.... it's just a hard leather thingy that u insert at the wood area then comes with a replacement grip where u wrap over it... it's quite chun actually .. i bought one but havne't use it on my racq yet... u can get fr me to try if u want..


I sudah took revenge on the Babolat REvenge strings... CUT it just now after 1week.. don't like the feel 56/54.. not much feel and dun feel the ball pocketing the strings well...

So change to the Pro Supex Blue Gear hybrid with Wilson Sync Gut 55/52lbs.

And kena poison by David so bought another Pure Storm GT just now and strung it with Pro hurricane tour Hybrid with Xcel Comfort 52/55.

so can't wait for 2nite to try out 2 setups with same tension and from same machine...

Yo guys,

Just came back from a Wilson and Babolat demo ... tried most of the BLX models.. 61 tour, 61 95 , 61 team, kpro open , pro tour.. the apdc GT was not there.. sad.gif ..onli had the pure storm's GT and old ones.. The pure storm is really nice to hit man.. tried all the standard, tour and ltd and all were very nice.. no wonder yan really crazy about this racket.. haha.. from the bunch i particularly liked the BLX 61 95... quite a nice racket..

If anyone willing to come to sg to test rackets , there's another session tommorrow 7-10 pm at Tanglin sports complex (harding rd) .. Everyone's welcome and tonnes of balls to whack and 4 courts so plenty of space.. Maybe those in Johor if interested can come.. smile.gif

Heard very good reviews of the BLX 95 16x19......via tt-warehouse, unfortunately I like box beam rackets too much, dare not try this BLX 95 (impossible for me to try as here mana ada, k-factor also dont have lol) otherwise I <3 it!!!

only way to book is to go there and book...pay on the spot, receipt will be issued, bring it to court.

yah v fast ... i ordered on L3 from David... he said he ordered a few but like the PSGT if no demand for L3.. they might not send the L3s out. So can just wait n c. the psgt i bought another L2 also .. coz dun hav L3 ... sad.gif

ok we start on neutral.apdgt v1 ... mmm.. the more reviews i'm reading .like the more i like it.and most of the reviews (fr t/w) the users are using pstgt and transitioned to the apdgt. so that is most interesting. can't wait for the call to come this week on apdgt

picture wise i still think the white & red & black of the PSGT is the best looking racquet and paintjob out there. not the limited pure storm but only the PSGT as i don't like the matte finishing on the PS Limited. heard the apdgt is half glossy half matte... so not sure how in real life will look like

price wise, they don'[ wanna reveal yet.. but it's safe to assume it'll be around the pdrgt price.. rm560+- and not below rm500 and not above rm600. As most babolats newly released or not are quite stable.. pricewise

as much as i like eddie etc for changing my wilson bag.. but i gotta warn you that his aftersales is not that good compared to the other shops like topper & sportprises in terms of warranty exchanges. so sometimes i rather pay the extra rm20-30 to buy fr topper. Becoz he already gives such low prices on your racq, say for e.g. you found out your racq has scratches or chips... he wud not xchange it for you AT ALL> but he will demand that you leave your racq there while he try to ask the distributor which sometimes can take forever etc... and he is not flexible at all in terms of that... compared to topper which prides itself with helping customers and making sure all his customers are happy ...(at least me)...

so dun always just go n buy things coz it's cheap..think abt the service, aftersales etc... you'll realize the importance of it when u kena sekali a warranty issue.... thus normally i buy balls etc fr eddie but racqs i still prefer sportprises & topper.

Well maybe if guys who wants to get cheaper racquets like RM20-30 less then better inspect the stick there kao kao first lo.

Usually racquets should not have much problems la. Scratches and chips most likely due to player. But if crack..... hehehhe.... no choice lo, just consider yourself hit megatoto. HAHAHAHAHA....

hey a little suggestion ... let's call the Apdc-gt with it's proper name since it's official now that it's called "Aeropro Drive GT or APDGT" on most sites and forums ... standardize it so won't be confusing later on ... smile.gif

hey guys, since the sunway courts are in pretty bad shape now (and with the closure looming on the horizon), would anybody be interested in sunday morning sessions at kelana jaya? we'll do it on a pool basis whereby we contribute a fixed amount say rm30 every month plus balls?

the only pain is getting to book the courts at mbpj, anyone works near there or is fairly mobile?

i totally agree with the idea of everywan pay rm30 monthly for the rental of court and balls

we can rent the courts in mbpj kelana, or otherwise we can try renting at pj club. im sure we can arrange smthing with thomas phang

black rose suggested that we play at bangsar

anymore suggestions?

Guys,

I've played in Bangsar before, courts are ok but lighting a bit bad. For booking, you need to go there during working hours to book. There's lots of coaches having sessions there so you got to be early. As for KJ, you have to go to MBPJ before the middle of the month to book for the following month. Usualy there's court available but pending tournament also especially the junior tournaments.

1. stupit expensive car park fee
2. stupit driver make tat jalan sesak like hell dragon
3. stupit car park management
4. stupit police like rasuah with open road block around kl (the most stupit is the police dunwan go to catch theif but catch "money")


Overall, if I got the option to choose, wont drive to there lor....

RM1040 full nokia warranty fr Zitron. they have 2 types out there. now not too sure. one is full package with video cables etc. and another is basic pack. i bought the full pack for rm1040 ( quite cheap considering AP is just rm100 diff)

i doubt it lah .. won't come together wit a big bag.. but only the cover. I'm not using any babolat bag. don't like the design. using the R.F Wilson BLX bag now. and btw the Wilson racquets which are not bundled together with the big bag.. it's a one time first batch only. just to promote their blx series. after that no more big bag. smile.gif

yan I am not too sure, coz I am very comfortable with my customized k6.1 tour, I spent alot of time researching & experimenting to get the set up I like x-p.

If I buy a racket this year its gonna be APD-GT coz I have never owned a Babolat racket.This racket is going on my wall.

I think I will pass on the BLX 6.1 tour coz most reviews say its almost like the k6.1 tour but softer, my racket is stiff at the head, but pretty soft in the handle after adding silcone , it works for me, so I am pretty happy.

The only BLX racket I want to try is the BLX 95 16x18 and the 18x20, I read (via tt-warehouse) that the 18x20 is getting really good reviews according to some testers and from the consumers, I am not a real fan of 18x20 rackets, though they feel more 'solid' when hitting but I prefer the 'ball sliding of my strings feelings' than 'solid' feeling.But the reviews are saying this racket plays like the Pro Staff Classic 6.1, I have that racket albeit not in great condition maybe 6/10 condition and that racket was a beast, so its awfully tempting to get it.

But I am awfully jealous of your R.F BLX bag, if they were selling the bag together with the racket I would keep the bag and sell the racket x-p ( woooooi pinky you interested or not!!?! >:-) KIPAS!!! If I bring home another bag, (fudge I sound l

Judging by your taste in tennis rackets,
I have heard that the k95 team is pretty harsh on the arm some more you have Luxilon on that racket at 57 lbs.....can you remember which racket you last used? Was it the k95 team? Which racket do you use the most? I can only suggest you rest up, till your hand/arm doesn't hurt. Experiment like this, use one racket for 1 whole week of tennis, make a mental note if your arm has a reaction to the racket/string. Rest for a few days, try a different racket, try this till you have tried all your rackets, find out which racket is hurting your arm.

Also where exactly is this 'discomfort', any details would be appreciated.

i got 1 fren looking for a racket, in between beginner and intermediate level, preferbaly a light racket. can be oversized or normal, can b new or 2nd hand. hes loking for either wilson or babolat.

budget is rm150-400

guys... I'm now on Holiday so have loads of free time.. as you know my usual rates start from rm70 onwards but to get some students and fill up my time

i have packages for 4, 6 lessons and 10 lessons

4 lessons at 240 (60 each)
6 lessons at 330 (55 each)
10 lessons at 500 (50 each)

it doesnt matter to me how many ppl split it..but i cap it max at 3 else lessons wont be conducive at all..even if 3 in 1hr also not as conducive..

conditions:
-lessons will be conducted ONLY at puncak damansara
-time has to be morning or night only on weekdays..weekends timing more flexible..
-have to be used up within 3months

Hey Ckseong, I bought the Yonex RDS001MP already. You are right, it is a good stick to play with. Very comfortable. I sufferred some problems with my second serve but that probably need some adjustment. Thanks haha!

Locally a Pure Storm or a Pure Drive is more expensive?

Overall I feel this hybrid isn't as good as a full BC setup in terms of feel and performance.
One thing for sure, hybriding with the OG gave a soft feel which isn't to my preference. Maybe its sorta like you get for wat u pay.
Now to check out its durability.

My target next round, RC. It feels very good on a k6.1 95 but not sure on a RDS001. biggrin.gif

aiyooo ck blackcode is already a soft poly, hybriding it with a soft synthetic will make it much mushier x-p if you want to hybrid make sure your mains (if they are poly) are not soft ie ALU power ,etc
If you wanna still hybrid (due to savings on $$$ I can only suggest you up the tension) I am pretty sure your Gosen will snap well before BC, general rule of thumb, I can be wrong though x-p

lol...ck bro...rc is red code?don reli hear any good things abt rc like we've for BC...hehe..

today play like true shit..double fault everytime in de super-tiebreak,which means my 1st serve percentage was 0%..haha..no energy,no mood to play like tat o..haha..dono y..i owes get rusty if i don play for some time...oredi so noob liao,if rusty...tsk tsk...i don even dare to stroke a..haha..

So now i left with one PSGT and the PDRGT. i'll be going over to peter's tomorrow to get another psgt.. u want the stencil ? i'm gonna get 1 for another fren who PM me last week..
