Hello folks in msia tennis land...
Coupla questions, hopefully u guys can help me out...
Firstly, as a complete total new noob level 0 chicken baby beginner, what sort of racqs do you guys recommend, and what sort of string should i be using ?
Cuz id like to start with a very 'general' purpose type of racqs before i get to know my playing styles, instead of just diving heads down buying a top of the line which might not suit me in the end. I prefer something heavy, but not too heavy, with a small racq head... So for something like that, what would be the budget range ?
Secondly, shoes, what sorta shoes, socks is recommended ? Cuz id like to think that regular running shoes will do the job... Unless im wrong and there really are specially made shoes for tennis..
N finally, are there any new guys here like me ? II mean like REALLY new, like i havent served in my entire life kinda new (like me..) id really, REALLY like to play tennis on a frequent basis? I read that you guys play around TTDI, or Tropicana, and that wouldnt be a problem for me hehe, but i doubt im qualified to play with the pros,.. hence why im askin if there's anyone here just like me, who's just gettin started...
IM good to play on any weekdays, n saturday evenings...
I've been quite keen with this sport but never really got around to playing it, so are there any noobs here like me ?
Cheers guys, hope i get to kick start this thing.. =)
since u're starting at lvl 0, i would recommend you to get a coach, which will definitely help you speed up your learning process. however, it's fine to learn on your own. you can get the theory part of it from
FYB.
regarding racquets, it's mostly a hit and miss affair, don't splurge on one just because you like the paint job, or just because people say that it's a good racquet. you need one which suits your play style, and you won't find that out anytime soon. I've got a few 'beginner's racquets' for you to get your feet wet, just let me know if u're interested.
regarding shoes, according to people, it's wise to invest in a proper tennis shoes. the built of the sole a little different than running shoes or basketball shoes (like what i'm using atm), it's a bit more 'tahan lasak'. if you don't mind old models, drop by the adidas factory outlet in summit to get some good deals, esp adidas tirand 3.
btw, i'm considered new. i still hit home-runs...
