pinky, thats why must get L3 in the first place lah... also even though overgrip can make up the difference it adds weight which u might or might not want. up to 10g per grip.

hey guys, since the sunway courts are in pretty bad shape now (and with the closure looming on the horizon), would anybody be interested in sunday morning sessions at kelana jaya? we'll do it on a pool basis whereby we contribute a fixed amount say rm30 every month plus balls?
the only pain is getting to book the courts at mbpj, anyone works near there or is fairly mobile? |

actually i think kelana jaya is a better idea as its the closest to sunway.
shall i start another thread for this? it'd be less messy that way QUOTE(Yan @ Feb 2 2010, 05:04 PM) |

yan, about 10-15% higher depending on type of string. but generally for syn guts try it first at the mid of the recommended tension range of your racket, which shd be 50-60lbs, hence give it a shot first at 55lbs.
QUOTE(Yan @ Mar 8 2010, 11:20 AM) Hey guys... i just wonder if i wanna string up my BLX 6.1 95 with full synthetic, what tension shud i go ... i've totally no exp on synthetic strings... always a poly user. so i've no idea the range for synthetic to match the playability of the poly .. Thought give it a try since i broke 2 strings this morning... my BLX 6.1 95 and also the PUre Storm GT .. and worst i brought 2 racqs to court only .. dua dua pun putus ... Gonna string up poly for the PSGT and synthetic for the 6.1 95. I want the synthetic to hav tension matching around a 48lbs-50lbs poly on the BLX 6.1 95 ... wow SGD99 is cheap ... i bought mine $79 USD last time ... |

yup, best point to start lah, from then u can decide if u want higher or lower. but the blx95, if its anything like the k95, will probably be quite comfy on syn gut. your concern, again if its anything like the k95, shd be dialing down the power, as the k95 almost consistently caused me home runs and i had to shorten my swing considerably.

cool! u gonna spray it yourself or take it to the paintshop? the only problem i can see using paint from a can is that it may crack from the flexing. let us know how it goes. QUOTE(Yan @ Mar 16 2010, 06:39 PM) i thought you hav 1 already ? hehe... i'm gonna start my custom pj project this weekend when bro kev brings me the new grommets fr t/w ... then wait for the unveiling .. lolx Added on March 16, 2010, 6:40 pm you are right .. june is the perfect benchmark of how good the racq against powerful flat hitter .. another will be nockas (ular's bro) |

i think its a typo lah... cannot be 19, it'd feel like a wet noodle. even wood rackets would be stiffer than that
QUOTE(PINK_MING @ Mar 16 2010, 08:34 PM) har???i din noe nockas is ular's bro man...lol..kinda surprised to noe tat... Added on March 16, 2010, 9:41 pmwow...guys..look at tis... http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Wilson_BLX...K5BLX.html#spec de t/w jus released 5 new blx models..particularly i'm surprised to see tat one..cuz its stiffness rating is only 19...wow...never realized tat dere's such a low stiffness huh?i tot 50+ is oredi very low..haha..now tis stiffness of 19 has reli opened my eyes.. oh ya,bro yan..imo,maybe u shud wait til u c all these 5 new models in real life baru decide which BLX to buy for emily n to complement ur bag..cuz perhaps it looks a lot better in real life in comparison to pics..like it did for de blx 6.1...n de specs r quite good for a female player...just my personal opinion n a friendly advice oly though... Added on March 16, 2010, 9:44 pmdoes anyone noe de reason of oversized racquets generally being more expensive huh? |

yan, u might want to try something along the lines of the kzen team, or something similar in spec anyway. decent headsize, light weight, even balance. but generally i think for ladies mid level player a good fit would be one in the 95-100sqin head, about 310gm strung, and even to 4pts headlight. the super light, super stiff, head heavy rackets are tennis elbow machines.
QUOTE(Yan @ Mar 17 2010, 05:44 AM) @pinky ... sorry my mistake it's n6.1 95 .. though she likes the n6.1 95 .. i think it's not a good start for a gurl esp the weight .. she has no control of the racq as it's too heavy and the risk of injury is too high as well.. so i wudn't advise her to start using it ... it's nice coz she doesn't need to use much of her strength to hit the ball.. but it's bad also coz she has no control once she starts to swing it as the racq is way too heavy for her to handle... she can't stop / slow down the swing ... anyhow i'll search for another racq for her... that one is just my pet project.. Added on March 17, 2010, 9:42 ampinky, definitely typo. the k3 stiffness is more likely to be 73 than 37. looking at the kfour which is supposedly lower power, even that has a stiffness rating of 71. sometimes these websites u have to read with caution. i remember once the proton website listed a car that has 1100hp... QUOTE(PINK_MING @ Mar 17 2010, 01:10 AM) lol...wet noodle..haha..yalorr...19 shud be too low larr..a typo like u said..but wat abt tis?its stiffness is 37 o..stil a typo? This post has been edited by scirocco: Mar 17 2010, 09:42 AMhttp://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Wilson_K_F...-K3FX.html#spec haha...bro yan n bro ck..nolarr..i din say i wanna buy de coral wave hor?lol..u don have insurance.. bro yan,u've n6.1 90 mer?i tot u oly have de 95 version?ho!u din tel us har?bro, after u change de strings, emily stil don like de blx mer?maybe de strings crappy eh?y she like de n6.1 95 but don like de blx 95 de?got so much difference mer?shud have put both at same strings, same tension...den de playtest wil be more accurate..hehe..but de 6.1 95s r quite heavy oso o..but perhaps, apparently de headlight nature make it feels as if it's quite light.. |

difficult lah... i know where to get automotive foam though, but those are terribly stiff and like concrete once it sets, hehe...
better option would be to use silicon. QUOTE(inv @ Mar 18 2010, 10:36 PM) |

yup, but just a word of caution, the heatshrink sleeves can add a significant amount of weight and change your rackets balance by a great deal. i've recorded weights of up to 15gm for the sleeves. an overgrip is about 6gms.
