i believe it's all base on personal preference...i prefer to stay closer to my subject...that is why i choose 85mm than 135mm...smile.gif

in this thread...we can only give personal opinion and guidance...but the conclusion is all up to the user...it's how comfortable is he with lens he chooses...

e.g: i heard a lot a chats and review saying 135mm is a better lens when comes to distance..but personally...i still prefer 85mm after comparing it with 135mm

my 2 cents

true, so if for me at least, its ok if you're using the 85 on an apsc, then it fits nicely..

QUOTE(signither @ Jan 28 2010, 11:20 AM)
more please drool.gif
the thing is, i am not using FF wor sweat.gif
*
no, i mean, in any case if in the future ur planning on going FF, then for me it could be wiser to get the 105/135
but if apsc all the way, then 85 it is..

85mm....no..pls, too much poison will kill my pocket.

btw, i agree with finejava, i like to stay closer to the subject, unless u shoot for the stage performance, then 135mm is better option

wah..hot discussion here..
for me..i don't really bother on brands.
photography is an art..it's too subjective to really say this is good..this is not.
when i was in arch. school..there is one of my friend..he got Ben-Q camera (where on earth people use this brand for camera!)..just a small one..but he can really shot very nice photos..and all my friend call him 'dewa'..

anyway...pic spam tongue.gif
my 1st ever photo in this tread
c&c are most welcome..

lwliam: i buy my lens for my future 35mm body...brows.gif...i've tried it with a900 on both lens...85mm is a bit nearer to the subject...that is the reason 85mm is in my loot now...

Anyone using windows7 64bit and able to install Sony Pictures Utility?

I have tried download and install the softwares in my newly installed win7 but after the installation.. everytime i restart my pc.. it will start up at WINDOWS SYSTEM RECOVERY... and windows unable to fix the problem and I couldnt start start my windows.

The only way to fix this is to do a system restore to the time b4 the sony picture utility is installed.. At first i Thought is the version provided with my A700 is too old.. but after i try installed the latest version from the sony website.. the problem remains...

I know this not exactly d right thread to ask.. but just like to ask if any1 encounter d same problem? or could be my other software problem?

clivengu: try installing virtualbox...then install a fresh copy of windows7 then install sony utility to see if works fine...if it does...then ur other software is the 1 giving problem...

p.s: this if i understand correctly that u upgrade to windows7 from ur previous OS

Dun believe in brand war. A camera is still just a tool. Canon is NOT the inventor of the camera anyway, so what makes him think that Canon is not a copycat in that sense? laugh.gif

likito: Cute!

lwliam: Subjective. I like sitting down, and when sitting down and just meeting friends the 85mm is nicer to use on FF. 50mm good for 2-3 people. 100mm or 105mm can be a bit too long for one person (having tried my 50mm with a 2x teleconverter.)

Then again it could be that I was wearing out the appeal of the 135mm on FF for sit-down meets. In the past 2 months I have fallen out of love for the standard 50mm focal length but recently rediscovered it.
