A4 paper will absorb too much light.. and easily damage. use the translucent plastic like shown in the pic.... i think 1 pc A4 size maybe about Rm1? and can make a few with different color, it work as flash gel too... great!!

d3stinyz: What flash are you using? Also, if you set the Manual Power on flash and your camera is not on Manual Exposure, it will override and the flash will change back to TTL.
Also, no comments on my picture? Or does nobody get it?

Ksano: How so?
Why do you think I took the picture that way? Was it just a white brick wall that I decided to take a picture of?

Question is, is that really what the sign says?

albert : i see the usual situation in Malaysia...never follow rules....where a dumpsite is pristine....but then who needs a dumpsite when everyone litters all over the country no..?..(sarcasm)....an aditional ironical element is the greenery...
i dont get the angle though...was it purposely meant to cut off the buang sampah board...(meaning u buang the jangan/dilarang above it)
and thirdly..why the inclusion of pipes and sewage hole.....not so sure...
this is my interpretation of the image

noprob : I just wrap the flash head with a4 paper vertically ... where the hole at the end of the paper not even covered just that I just use raynox + beercan though albnok : So I guess the sign actually says Do not throw garbage there eh.... Or Throw the garbage at the arrow pointing.. ( which means not on the floor... but instead to the wall) wth am I thinking This post has been edited by Ksano: Feb 15 2010, 12:54 AM

braindead_fr3ak: Congratulations, you got it!
I purposely framed it to cut off the "DILARANG" above the "BUANG SAMPAH DI SINI".
Which represents us - we see what we want to see. We U-turn when we see a no U-turn sign. Some smoke when there is a no-smoking sign.
The pipes and sewage is just what was below the sign - just to show that people did actually follow the sign, and not litter.
I see it as a challenge to shoot with a 50mm at F3.2 because there wasn't any bokeh, any HDR, any fisheye/ultra-wide-angle effect to make people go WOW. It is very easy to make a visually appealing image which has no meaning.
Are we so used to posting pictures that have no meaning? That when a picture might have a meaning, or a message, we don't try to look for the message/meaning in it?
Ksano: Yes, you got it (but not as fast as braindead_fr3ak hehe.)
lugiamcg: No worries, the comment I was looking for, has nothing to do with technical details of the picture. And hey, if you think a 'sifu' is posting with a weird composition - you can always say "eh I think your picture if you do like this would be better."
Then the 'sifu' can justify why he/she broke the rules, and you'd learn too.

albert.. : awesome... what differentiates a photographer from a pns is not the equipment he uses...rather the thought that goes on behind the picture....
im currently working on a project in that line....it is NOT easy ...but thats the beauty of it no?...
never appreciated an easy thing shall be, not for lack of passion nor a lack of beauty, but the simplistic detail of how much blood, sweat and tears produced such an entity..............
