Thx. Difficult to find Hoya filters here in Sibu. Searched around and only see KEEP filters.  sweat.gif Imagine a KEEP UV filter 62mm for RM80..... no choice, had to buy as I wanted it fast to protect my front lens elements....  sad.gif

Going to search around garage sales for the Hoya CPL filter.

I have read on all those settings i.e. aperture/iso/DoF/Metering. Just that reading and practical is two BIG different things. Tried to play around with my camera's setting and got some awful pictures......  cry.gif

you can buy online.
Even Zaloon Studio can also send to Sibu, if they have what you are looking for la.

Anyway, here's the reason why I bought my a550:

Yeah, composition not good and picture blurred. No time to take that "moment" in time..... so sad......  sad.gif

Edit : I definitely going to get a prime lens!!!  rclxm9.gif

She's beautiful. rclxms.gif
Is the photo post processed (PP) and cropped?
IMHO you need a wider (ie <50mm) and faster (ie bigger aperture) lense (prime or zoom).
I think, since you shoot indoors, if you have a wider lense, you'll be able to shoot a more full-er body subject (ie not just the face, but also your daughter's whole body as well). You will have more options in "cropping" and compositioning your photo.

Maybe a Tammy 1750F2.8 or 1680CZ ? hehe brows.gif
or Sony SAL35F1.4G drool.gif brows.gif

y not 50f1.8? or if he can afford it 50f1.4
thumbup.gif "saya mesti pilih!"
a better alternative is the 1750f2.8
*

IMHO for indoor shooting, 50mm lense on APS-C camera usually not wide enough. That was why I suggested something < than 50mm lens smile.gif

Thx.  smile.gif

Nope, the photo was taken in JPEG. unprocessed and not cropped. It was a snap shot, didn't have time to get ready.

It was not because of the lens as I have the 18mm-250mm. I was just too near with my lens zoomed.

I've got a few other subsequent pictures which is clear but didn't get that "moment" that I want. So sad.....

Thx for suggesting the 1750 or 1680CZ.... I've already been poisoned kaw kaw....  sweat.gif
Yeah, I'm looking for the 50f1.8 to complement my 18250.....  nod.gif
*

I did not realize that you have the 18250 lens. That lense should be wide enough for your indoor photo shots... but not fast (ie refering to aperture, not AF) enough for low light shooting. You'd have to bump up the ISO (which A550 is good in handling high ISO jpg) and/or lower the shutter speed (which is not ideal for shooting kids as it is difficult to make them stay still). For outdoor and bright sunny day, the 18250 would be good. hmm.gif

Camera: a300
Lens: sal 55-200F4-5.6 DT + ayam PL-filter
Exposure: 1/160
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 200 mm
ISO Speed: 400
no PP.

why the bokeh is not smooth. is it because of pl-filter ?(its not cpl. not typo)
*

e-jump, what do you do actually? (ie job) hmm.gif
your model always dressed up in anime costume. Its different from other photogs who shoot "ordinary" models smile.gif
You are different biggrin.gif

If you want to buy a flash for your a330 only... then the F42 would be a better choice IMHO.
But if you have some plan for the future and possibly future body upgrade, I suggest get the F58 aka "cobra" smile.gif drool.gif

the 24-70 is a rather large lens no? is it heavy?
*

yes... and yes... big and heavy
but after some time, I believe you'll build up enough muscles to get used to its weight.

a nubie question:
for a product photo shoot (eg food, shoes, jewelleries etc)... what lens to choose?

I've just browsed a few pages of the Pentex thread and I must say that Pentex is very bold with color (camera body color to be specific... not photo image color smile.gif ). Other camera makers are very conservative in that area. I think Sony did experimented with camera body color with the A380 (ie the brown color). I wonder if Sony would be daring enough again in the future to come out with camera bodies that go against the conservative tradisional black (or black/crome for film) color camera body ... hmm.gif

*

The photos are beautiful... but IMHO (my personal nubie taste la) I think they are over sharpened to my liking hmm.gif unsure.gif (I maybe wrong in this matter however blush.gif tongue.gif )
I like sharp vivid photos but not to disregard the "naturalness" (if there is such word blush.gif ) of the whole picture. ie not too artificial & fake-ish such as those CGI (computer generated imagery) animated characters.
