Just wanna ask if u have tried using Denso Iridium plug? If yes, what is ur opinion?
Thinkin of using it in my N16 & E13......
By d way....my N16 FC still stands at 0.20 per km (Ron 97)....
Any suggestion 2 improve d FC?

I am currently using Denso Iridium plugs, these are my 2nd set so far, been using Denso Iridium plugs for the past 5 years... Well, from my observation, it gives me very easy engine start-up in the morning, slight improvement in acceleration, slight improvement in FC...

Perhaps you can try out Bosch's new Platinum + Iridium plugs, but I'm not sure whether it's good or not...

For me, to improve FC, I make sure I don't put the pedal to the metal all the time...

was just wondering whether engine tune-up should be done every 20,000km? Nissan service centre recommend engine tunning every 20,000km.

Besides that, should we do engine tunning after every spark plug replacement?

N16 2008

hi guys, my n16 rear shock & suspension kong edi, i planning to get a replacement with jacked up suspension because the car is fitted with NGV so by installing a normal shock & suspension makes the car look a little down, at least by getting the jacked up ones hopefully makes the look normal. I'm looking forward for comfort ness, so is there any brand or model up for recommendation? Thanks guys

just wanna ask bout the foggy.
i plan to install fog lamp on my sg model, found out that there is no hardness.
all the hardness need to install on my own??? i bought it for 350 ori nissan.
planning to install HID on it...

he is the b13 with plate number DY XXXX

It's not called "hardness", it's "wiring harness". Did you mean that you have bought the fog lamps' wiring harness from Nissan? If you do, just send your car to an auto accessories shop to have them install it for you.

No, I'm using Denso Iridium now... The actual name of the Bosch Platinum+Iridium plugs is "Bosch Platinum Iridium Fusion™"... I've never used the Bosch plugs before so I dunno the price...

yes.. the gearbox is easy to find... but the price is the main point...
and im planing to swap to manual now...

The nosecut is not VZ-R nosecut, the headlamps is crystal type but not smoked, however, the bumper is the same as the VZ-R's, only without the fog lamps...

my N16 jerks intermittently.. sometime will cause engine to stall while moving in D or R gear... check engine light some time flash on and then gone...

sent to tanchong klang to diagnose... the problem didnt occur and reading were all okay...

i was thinking to buy Nissan Consult ECU Diagnostic Interface to log the error code while the check engine light flash on.

you think that reader is able to capture the error code?

- k-speed 15" on an otherwise stock car.
- Currently using japan belts which solves the chirping sound.

Oh.. i juz read that N16 is actually a B15 in other countries. But i think that relates to the chassis, engines probably different. jakun haha..

Yes, the N16 shares the same chassis with the B15... As a matter of fact, the B15/N16 shares the same chassis with the older B14/N15 chassis but with major enhancements to the overall rigidity...

1st is the temperature reading is fluctuating, as i read in the version 1, one of the member said tht it is the distributor being loosen, may i know how to tighten it back?

2nd q is , how much is the cost to change the antenna of the b14, mine is out d n need to be replace.

Woah, HU also spoiled? Is ur HU the original one that came with your B14 or an aftermarket one?

N16 spare parts very cheap, but B14 spare parts now very expensive...

the HU is the original one that come with the car...i juz got hold of the car last week.

the problem i m facing now is:

1) temperature dial jumping, even after tighten the sensor, based on the service manual tht i downloaded from the net.

2) HU n antenna spoil, need to find a new one n fix it, antenna i think will install those indoor one. cheaper. i guess.

3) the bonnet lock knot open by using key, have to open using lever inside the car.

other than all these minor defects, i m quite happy with the car. very fuel saving and comfortable. =)

n16 is which model of sentra?

Ori Nissan brand belt, except it's the japan version. Got it from Batu Caves TCEAS. I am not sure if the other branches also carry those japan stock ?

My engine is the SR16VE NEO VVL, the previous clutch is an Nissan OEM one, but it's also a racing clutch...

This is my first time using Exedy Racing Clutch, it's pretty much the same as the OEM one, like the OEM one it is also quite a heavy clutch, the pros about these racing clutches is that power delivery is very immediate, the cons is that these kinda clutches are not easy to modulate, especially when moving from a stationary position...

I don't have much choice but to buy this Exedy one becoz the OEM one cannot be found in M'sia...

Has it got any effect on HP & FC? Sorry, got a lot of questions & am trying to learn from various sifus about cars....

Yes, it does affect HP in a way, a racing clutch is more efficient in transferring power from the engine to the gearbox, so there's less power loss in the transfer, meaning more power to the wheels... And since it's more efficient, FC will improve a bit too...

Wah...like that can u pls let me know how much difference the FC is after testing? I would really appreciate it.

I can't seem to get good FC on my N16 la....auto. 11km per litre. My sunny can reach 13km per litre some more carburator old engine with 1.3l.

How much did it cost you ah?

Well, with my kind of driving style, the difference in FC won't be much...

Right now, the FC is about 10.2km/L, nothing to shout about...

The Exedy clutch set was bought at RM850...

I guess that is a reasonable price for EXEDY clutch huh...

Yeah, RM850 is reasonable, Eneos is selling it at more than RM1.3K...

My previous GA16DE was a quite a neglected engine, the previous 2 owners didn't took care of it well, so when I took over it, the FC was OK initially, then it deteriorated so badly that one full tank of fuel can only give me 290KM...

Yes, it's possible but I haven't come across any aftermarket digital dashboard meter for the N16 so far...
