I had the same problem too.. Mine was because of the air-con compressor piping which is in the engine compartment area that is entering into the dashboard area.. The pipe and the metal holder was rubbing together when accelerate .. My mechanic adjusted the piping a little, n the sound disappeared... Not sure whether u having the same problem.. U can give it a try

Thanks for your advise. Yes, the main culprit is the crank sensor, i change also the phase sensor. Now everything goes back to normal.

Heard that 2004-2005 model was very worst fc, the facelift model 2006> model is better fc is it? 1.6 or 1.8 better fc?? 1.6 heard is underpower, how about 1.8??

Mechanically there are no differences between 2001 all the way to 2011 N16 Sentras. They use the same QG engines since 1999 and it is still being sold by TC today. However, with that said, any older cars will have a higher FC due to wear and tear, and this applies to any cars no matter which manufacturer. It also depends on the previous owner if they ever take care of their cars, since a knackered engine will have a higher FC too...

Anyone know where to get this rear bumper and the price?

hi, i drive a nissan sentra 1.6 SG.
currently it uses a 15' set rims, tire spec 165/60/15.
i would like to upgrade the old rims to something larger, so that i can fit n larger diameter tires.
in hope, the comfortable cruising speed will be increased. right now, 135km is the sweet spot speed.
any recommendation and suggestion.?

check your engine timing first, it could be engine knock/pinging. that is if the sound is constant dull tapping sound.

otherwise, need to tengok kereta dulu .

1.8 lah......1.6 is way too underpowered for the chassis. Didnt like that model because of the aircond blower options.

Added on May 25, 2011, 9:13 pmsweet spot means the optimal crusing speed of the car la. its a point where the highest speed with minimal FC is achieved. also inclusive of the comfort of the car at that speed. no melayang feeling at the steering.

if RPM maintain at 3000 also u will get good FC
so wonder how much speed we can get if we in highways......
