Hi guys
Does anyone here knows where can I get replacement disc brakes for N16 Sentra 1.6SG? It is high time that i replace my current stock front pair of disc rotors, and I m looking for a better replacement for the pair. At the moment, it is either ATX discs (from Speedworks) or importing DBA rotors from Australia (costly). Any ideas if I can get good ones in KL, such as Project U or DBA?
Any advise are appreciated... thanks!

Yeah, there's a speed limiter installed in all N16s...
Actually, not all. Mine don't and my SG did top 185kmh while going after a Caldina on highway before he gets his fuel limited. I know GXEs can top 190kmh or more before, on stock.
Not sure why some have speed cuts and some don't, but so far I have not seen one in real life, except those on Japanese ECUs.

I am looking for dampen lightweight crank pulley for my auto 1.6 N16 2008, anyone have suggestion, best is the size remain the same as stock but lighter.  smile.gif
You can go for either Alutec for N16, pricey but excellent built. No rubber dampening, but I know a few N16 running it without issues. Note that the Alutec uses 3pk belt for the smaller one, rather than 4pk for normal 1.6 SG in malaysia.
I m running Powerzone (local) lightened pulley, so far so good, no rubber dampening too, but i had to replace the crank seal since it is broken when the original was removed. You might want to replace it at the same time when you remove your original pulley.

i on all the time, i try O/D off is only can go 3rd gear, is O/D On can easy to 4th gear.

Sorry, my mistake, yes, OD On goes to 4th gear blush.gif
Ignore my previous post... but same analogy applies, where OD off settings only restricts to 3 gears where ratio is more than 1.

My N16 1.6(A) year 2008 today the engine stalled more than 10 times from Puchong to my office in Ampang. Before the engine goes death it got jerk a bit but I see the meter panel still got power supply and can be restart immediately. When come to slope area once I restart the engine, I need to floor the pedal a few time then only can see got fuel supply to engine but not far it move.  My car mileage already touching 100k km and I never change the fuel filter before.

Is this problem related to fuel pump and fuel filter? Hope sifu here can advise me what to look for.  smile.gif
Hi, is your car a high mileage car? It may be possible that your car's having the cam and phase sensor problem for your QG16. Go to TC and plug in the Consult II, you should get a warning on that sensor. If so, change it, it does not cost much (i think about RM300), they comes in a pair, one located on the camshaft, and the other located on the crank. Usually it is the crank one that spoils.
I changed mine once my car hits 150k km, as a preventive measure.... most N16 drivers face this problem when their cars are above 100k km on the odo. Note that eventhough Nissan claims that the problem has been resolved for 2003 N16 and above, I have seen newer cars face this problem as well.
Hope this helps.

Hi Nitrous

Thanks for sharing. The sensor that cause the problem is on the left hand side beside the fly wheels area, is that phase sensor or crank sensor? After they change it then the engine stall problem solved. They just change one sensor that's it everything goes back to normal.  smile.gif
Hi, it is the crank sensor, if it is beside the flywheel. Normally, one box (BTW, I checked back and it is called Position and Phase sensor on the box) contains a pair, and they will change both for you. But the crank sensor is the usual culprit.

does it occur to B14 too?
FYI, my B14 already reach 4+++++km.
TQ.
I m not sure if it happens on B14, the B14s runs on GA series, previous gen for the QG series. So far, I have not heard that GA16 requires such change.
Hope this helps...

which 1 better?

Sentra 1.6 or 1.8

2nd hand 2004-2007

Heard that 2004-2005 model was very worst fc, the facelift model 2006> model is better fc is it? 1.6 or 1.8 better fc?? 1.6 heard is underpower, how about 1.8??
Mechanically there are no differences between 2001 all the way to 2011 N16 Sentras. They use the same QG engines since 1999 and it is still being sold by TC today. However, with that said, any older cars will have a higher FC due to wear and tear, and this applies to any cars no matter which manufacturer. It also depends on the previous owner if they ever take care of their cars, since a knackered engine will have a higher FC too...

60,000 to 80,000 km on the ODO usually, depending on the condition and how you drive your car (preventive maintenance). If you don't mind the extra cost, try to get the non-Key Value belts from Nissan Japan, as my experience with Key Value belts tend to squeak after some time...

Edit : Forgot to elaborate. The mileage above only applies to timing belts. Not timing chain.

aik i thought timing chain supposed to be life time warranty
no need to change... please correct me if im wrong
only aircon belting need to be change rite when the rite time comes.
Yes you are correct. I forgot to add the details above, only timing belts needs to be changed. There are 2 timing belts, the aircon compressor and alternator belts, both driven from the crank pulley.
