I have a question. Lets say if i buy nexus one from singapore and use it in malaysia. do i still need to root nexus one to use market enabler to access paid applications or i can just download market enabler straight to access them?
Because i know androids here (eg. HTCs) doesnt have marketplace only have slideme.
I am totally lost coz i was never an android user.
Really need clearing up here. Thanks.
You are talking about Nexus One. Its not sold in Malaysia, and it comes with the Market application by default. Market Enabler only adds PAID applications into the market. The market application itself is standalone and doesn't have anything to do with the market enabler. If you want to experience Android, just get one. We have more than enough resources to get you flying with your phone

The method I used to switch my phone silent usually I will press the volume key down,
then the screen will appear the level of the sound volume. Adjust it until 0, you will see
a vibration logo, which means your phone is now silent and vibrate enabled, otherwise,
you may press one more time the volume key down and your phone will turn into completely
silent mode without any vibrating.
Then you really should read my previous response. I just switch on the screen, and slide my slider to the left to turn into vibration only or sound + vibration. Easy

It seems that Android really captured the US market comparing to others. One of the problems is the lack of marketing on Android devices. Telco such as Celcom which do provide Android devices didn't promote enough. They concentrate more on BB devices. It just saddens me when I heard people asking handphone salesman around and they don't know what Android is.
That is why we have built our community forum for Malaysians. If telcos don't see the potential, doesn't mean we have to just sit back and wait for action. We can play our roles in making Android famous here. We have realized that Android will conquer iPhone one day. That day, we will sit back and just say "See, we told everyone".
More and more people are joining everyday. As for me, my friends approach me for their technical needs. They ask, I answer, they follow. Thats how it goes. When they ask about phones, I always ask them "What is their budget" (We have an Android for all budgets). Then I ask them "which phone has he been checking out so far" (if he has one, I will know what are the features that he need). After that, I will explain to him some major phones and then ALL Android phones and I ask him to make the decision himself after knowing everything. Been good so far, a couple of my friends have switched to Android. Yesterday, a friend bought a HTC Tattoo. He went through the same process and budget was a concern for him so he chose Tattoo himself

That is how we play our roles. We don't have to scream it out. We just have to use our phones and have faith that its the best among any phones around us. It does half the talking for us

When a big crowd cheers about something, others will want to know about it. Mingle with Androiders and you will find the experience even more interesting. Trust me

and when the seller didn't know about Android all they do is bluffing around...for example if check out the android device around sg wang...a very hectic experience....haissh!!!
That's what all salesman have been doing in most cases. Some are honest. When they don't know, they will say it. But some will make up their own facts. I have had a few experiences with salesmen already. I went to KLCC HTC shop where I was just browsing other phones while waiting for my movie. The guy greeted me and was quite pleasant. He was explaining about all the Android devices that they had and their features (lol). I just kept silent and listened to what he said, analyzing his talks. He didn't fake stuff but didn't know the insides of Android when it came to rooting and stuff. He was honest though. I had my Nexus One for only a day when this incident happened, so N1 was VERY new back then. He asked me what mobile I was using, and I took out my wife's Hero. He was like...lol, so much explanation for an already Android user. Hero was the best Android phone back then when N1 just came out.
So, I asked him about the N1 and he said its a very new phone, Google phone, bla bla bla and that they didn't have it. I asked him if he has seen one..He said its not even in Malaysia..
I took out my N1, placed it in his hand and he was like
