BTW : I am not a heavy FB user, so, I am not sure whether the N1's FB app is enough for you all. To me... mmm.. just as good as the basic web-based FB.

TQ. smile.gif

Not much different from the web based version. Since I blocked all facebook apps/games, so I don't know how good is the N1's facebook.

Navigation? ... mmm.. GMap can give DIRECTIONs and the purple line can be seen on the map. I don;t know whether it is good for navigation or not... but enough for route planning.
one thing for sure, the N1's GPS system is superb !:) . Very good sensitivity and with great accuracy. Outdoor/Open sky, N1 can gives 2m accuracy. Satellites locking also not bad all.

Yeah, as I said, I am not a FB heavy user. smile.gif.. But, one thing that iPhone's FB did not have is the 'MULTITASKING' or background notifications. smile.gif

ZOMG! I thought Simrim was like RM 100 - 150 only?
Anyways, I don't get the point of paying for Simrim. Can anybody explain? I'm not a local.

if you are thinking of bringing it in from singapore i think avoid postage
it's best that you travel down to singapore and get the phone back to here yourself
and i heard it's best not to bring the original box along as well

any expert here on 'smuggling' items from singapore to malaysia ?

Lol..let me give you guys some heads up on facebook for Nexus One..I'm a moderate user and have lots of contacts..
The Nexus One has one of the most dynamic ways of handling contacts. This is what you can do:
1. Add your google mail account to your Nexus One
2. Add your facebook account to your Nexus One
What the Nexus One will do roughly less than a few seconds is, it will download ALL your contacts to your Nexus One..What it does, it downloads the facebook profile pic of your friend as the contact's picture.

Now, what you guys must be thinking "I don't want ALL my contacts. My Google is messed with weird emails etc". You don't have to worry about that. There is one checkbox in the contacts which after ticking it, only contacts with phone numbers will be displayed (as in my case, my gmail contacts were now "hidden" and my facebook accounts were listed for those who had included their phone number on their facbeook profiles).

Now, what about the others who didnt insert their phone numbers in thir facebook profile, but you have their profile? No problem..Just create a new contact with the same person's facebook name, and add the phone number to it..Once you hit save, you will realize it did NOT make a new contact. Why? Because it combined with the facebook profile automatically. The person who was not visibile just now, is now visible because you added a phone number smile.gif

And what about those who don't have facebook? No problem. Just make a new contact and you will have it there smile.gif

Whats even better? Once you have settled this once, it automatically synchronises to the facebook and google server. So when your phone is reformatted or whatever happen, just add you fb account and gmail again, and there you go..its all there wink.gif

THAT my friend is the BEST way to utilize facebook for me until now..Even friends of old ages added me on facebook and my nexus one helped getting their number too smile.gif

Select Nexus One users complaining of touchscreen calibration, 3G connectivity issues

As totally awesome and exciting as the Nexus One might be, with any new device there are bound to be some growing pains -- f'rinstance, you might have heard about issues with the phone's 3G connectivity. Well, Google has too (hell, our buddy Erick Tseng even addressed it on The Engadget Show yesterday) and while the cause is less than clear, the company assures us it's working feverishly to get to the bottom of it. Unfortunately, that isn't the only problem newly minted Nexus One owners are noticing. According to a lively discussion on Google's Android forum, some folks are experiencing extreme touchscreen calibration issues after cold booting the phone -- problems that resolve themselves (temporarily) after putting the thing to sleep and then turning it back on. That said, the good folks at Google assure us they're on the case. If it turns out that it's a hardware problem, it'll be covered under your warranty. Software? They'll issue a patch for it. If your phone's having problems and you feel like joining the conversation, hit that source link.

Funny isnt it? When iPhone came out, no one was raising any fingers about all these bugs and problems..No one did testing so extended like Nexus One has..They just have issues to raise towards Nexus One because they are expecting the Nexus One to be totally perfect..like 100% perfect..Seriously, if you expect a perfect phone, I suggest you go make your own phone and sell it off! If we start complaining about iPhone, there will be too many to discuss..I will see how iPhone 4G will be accepted then! I want to see if people can test it this extensively. And if no one comes up with a bad review, I will personally bang iPhone so hard that I will expect people to answer me in regards to Nexus One then!

p/s: This message is not intended for you shenmui..Its intended for the person who made that post smile.gif

irwan..Read the first line in this thread's first thread..You will understand what I am talking about smile.gif From this point, if people still ask "Where to get Nexus One" or if they ask "if this phone is available in Malaysia already?" just don't bother to respond smile.gif
