Yeah, the rooting process seem to be easy... but the 'Warranty VOID' is not quite easy to me

Thinking of asking my brother to buy one for me from US. Will it work here with Maxis? Any drawbacks? |

Look at the first page of this thread, for the APN setups. Our Android lover's; shahz is using Maxis, and he have no problem with it.
TQ. |

QUOTE(rapster88 @ Jan 18 2010, 03:52 AM) Hi. A quick question here. Will I be charged for Sirrim thingy if I import it thru SG? Thinking myself to get one from a friend of mine in SG. This kinda depends on your luck if customs decides to inspect and hold your package then expect SIRIM to get in the picture. |

Ok, I did test the DL and UL speed with speedtest.net apps, at several places.
1) In my house@Balakong : 3G = 3-4 bars : DL: 651 kbps UL : 185 kbps 2) RnR Serdang/Minlon : DL : 3G = full bar : 1299 kps UL: 155 kbps 3) In my office@Bandar Sri Damansara : 3G = full bar : DL : 256 kbps UL : 119 kbps ; In eveing : DL : 544 kbps; UL : 154 The DL speed is about the same with my previous phones, Nokia E52 and Motorola RAZR V3xx. But, I am quite puzzled about the UL, because it is much faster then average of 110 kbps with I got from my previous phones. Thank you... Actually, Google does want us to root our phone and get the most out of our Nexus One..But they also want to know the danger of obtaining it..root can be very useful but when its used improperly, it can be hazardous too..You must have the control over the phone and not let others have control over it..In fact, if you see, some apps on the market do require root access too..For if it was something that you shouldn't do, those apps would never have been on the market at the first place
rapster88, its better not to get yourself 'unlucky' unless you are willing to pay another RM400 - RM600 for the clearance Added on January 18, 2010, 3:38 pmcosmicmeadow, there is only one drawback.. we will be "stealing" iPhone's internet access..huahuahua... Don't worry..its an unlocked phone which is ready to catch any SIM that is passed to it (except AT&T if I'm not mistaken for its using different 3G band) but who cares about that too..When you have an unlocked phone, you are not bind to any contract and you can freely pop in any sim card into it.. Jailbreak? Whats that? LOL! No such thing in Android world This post has been edited by shahz: Jan 18 2010, 03:38 PM |

shahz,
jailbreak is only needed if you were caught giving sweets to custom officers can you check on the Android Market if you are limited on the paid apps? I heard the paid app is only for US. What do you have on yours? * i think since you've rooted yours, you may not have the limit, but do you recall before rooting it? |

oreo, by default, even after rooting the phone, you don't get access to paid apps..But like i said, with android, sky is the limit and everything can be done. There is a tutorial in another thread stickied here in LYN. Check it out

As my first impression on audio SQ with high quality custom IEMs, it sound OK, with slightly rolled-off high, ie, slightly less clarity and details. Bass and mid is nice and enough.
I just tried the N1 with all my IEMs, Entry level : Nuforce NE-7Ms : Single dynamic driver : iPhone compatible IEMs. Good bass and mid. Treble is just enough but not too detail or clarity. This IEMs are iPhone compatible IEMs and I can control the music playback with the button at the IEMs. I also can make calls just like normal head-sets. Mid level :Phonak Audeo PFE 112 : Single armature driver : Better mid and treble clarity than NE-7Ms, but bass quantity is less. Top tier : Westone UM3Xs : Bass and mid, Wow... more than enough. Custom IEMs : Unique Melody Mages : The best all rounded sound. Mmm..Yeah, a slightly less clarity, details and treble extension. So, IMO, the N1's sound is just average. N1 also can pair/bind with my Motorola S705 Bluetooth module using BT A2DP prototocl . So, I can send audio stream wireless-ly and enjoy it with any IEMs/phones. Since the N1 stream out the audio digitally, the SQ only can be evaluate by the bluetooth's modules/head-set. Thank you. This post has been edited by bahathir: Jan 18 2010, 06:46 PM |
