There is a hack version of google navigation that can be used here ( with some limitation ). Note that if you install using the direct download link below, it will install another  google map application, i.e the hacked version along your current google map.

Download link - http://ul.to/1bsozb/maps3.3.1-brut-no-root-3.apk
xda thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...=navigation+usa

Hengsin, I tried it on Hero already. It doesn't work. Haven't tried it on Nexus One yet though. But I hope you confirm the fact before posting it. Or it will create more confusion here.

To those who are buying it from "private dealers", bear your own risks. For our recommendation, the only person we recommend you to buy from is irwan (refer first line in first post). If you get scammed or cheated by the private sellers, that will be your own risk to bear and do not come here complaining that you were cheated. You have been warned smile.gif

iPhone facebook apps no background notification ? Get your facts right before you post something.
*
I suggest you read first before banging on someone. Read his fact. It says "Multitasking" or "Background Notification". You're talking on iPhone's perspective. Our Nexus One runs the whole Facebook application at the background and updates LIVE unlike iPhone which just shows you an icon when you have an update and have to launch the application every time. We on the other hand just have to switch to our Facebook application.

Added on January 19, 2010, 5:01 pmHan18, read some posts earlier. There was a user running DiGi on Nexus One and got things to work. If it works for you too, can you please paste the APN settings here and I will update the first page.
Thanks smile.gif

it works lar at least when my Magic is on Donut, and the reason it doesn't run on your previous Hero is because Google Navigation only works with Donut and above. Maybe people got confuse with Google Maps = Google Navigation.

However, u only get half the feature in Malaysia cuz there no street view sad.gif but of course still serve the purpose...

That's exactly what I was saying. It does not work on Hero (Android 1.5). And that is why I specified I have not tried it on Nexus One. Because I know by right it should work but who knows if it doesnt.

For N1 owners..just wanna ask if everybody is facing the same problem?

Our N1 will get warm up when charging..i mean quite warm! I never felt so warm in any of the smartphones I am using..so I am kinda worried.

Did some survey outside, it seems charging using USB will be much better..but is everyone facing the same issue..which is your N1 will get "hot" when charging

Is it a good mobile phone option for Malaysian users considering it does not have any physical customer service? ... not in US and certainly not in Malaysia!

Plus Nexus & Google have been lambasted with all sort of shortcomings in the US where consumers expects only the best service yet faced with problems.

Anyone read this CNN report? :-

http://www.cnn.com/2010/TECH/01/14/wired.g...x.html?hpt=Sbin

Just sharing...

Wall charger provides 1000mA compared to 250mA from PC's USB. The higher current sometimes makes more heat tome this is acceptable

Dead pixels are very hard to find if any. They are too small.

After using N1 since yesterday evening, I noticed that my signal is E (for Egde) most of the time. Never had H signal (for HSDPA), unlike with my Hero previously. And the speed seems like a bit slower when using internet. Is it because I have reach the 5GB cap?

I sourced them from US. I haven't tried a lot of features myself. A lot of my units go to customers hand on the day they arrived. Haven't really got the chance to fully explore. Maybe Bahathir/Syahz can help

The responders that you have here are mostly from Malaysia and Singapore. So far we are pretty happy with what we have. Once again, this phone is brought in against Google's rules, but as legally possible, and we don't expect any premium services such as customer service or warranty repairs. We only advise the hardcore tech freaks who can bear the consequences when one rises, to buy one.

If you are buying because it looks good and you will not be utilizing it, need solid customer support, warranty backup, and all the premium services, my advice to you is "Don't buy it" smile.gif

As far as "support" is concerned, we are always here to give as much help as possible. We are not the gurus or whatsoever you may be thinking, but we do try our best and in most cases, we do solve even the slightest problems too.
