I need help here
first time doing rooting on my nexus one..
I flashed the update-cm 5.0.4.1-n1 signed.zip and gapps-passion-ere36b-2-signed.zip then reboot my phone..
it has no error msg in between but now my phone was in the loading screen for first time reboot, it just keep loading non stop for 5 minutes already, my phone now is hot and doesnt show up to booted screen..

any advice for me, any expert?

hmm ... stock nexus here ... using handcent sms app, notice no more emoticon button anymore ?

did you wipe before flashing the CM custom rom? If not, wipe and reflash again. hope this helps!

Umm..as far as I know, the birthday is automatically downloaded from Facebook contacts. There is no method to input it manually at the moment. Not one that I know of so far Hero was better in this issue..

u mean in the homescreen? Just hold it for a few seconds, a trash can will appear at the bottom, drag the icon to the trash..renaming - not possible..

shahz, is it necessary to do the restore and back up again before wipe?
I'm now wiped, flashing again the cm 5.0.4.1 and the gapps..

the nandroid part is fine if you have all the backup done already. once you wipe (factory reset and dalvik-cache), reflash the rom and it will work like a charm..

definately less than 5 mins..

wanna ask is it necessary to flash "radio_20100203_02_signed_passion.img" radio image??

if its the first time you're rooting, then yeah, i recommend you to flash that too..are you on ERE36B already?

I'm on ere36b already..
so do I still have to flasht he radio image?
if yes do i have to wipe everything, then flash the radio image and reflash the rom ?


by the way..i am loaded to my cm5.0.4.1
but homescreen wont work..cannot scroll to page 2, cannot hold 2 sec for pop up menu, cannot touch on any of the widgets or icon...

Nope, I mean this launcher screen, I want to remove some non use apps icon but remain the apps or rename the apps name.

Actually what's the different between cyanogen and modaco?? Which one is better?? Is modaco root step are same as cyanogen? Shah why not you post up cyanogen root tutorial too??

birthday you can add via website...normally i edit my contact using website ...just click on "Contacts" on your gmail and edit away.

Yeah..this is a bug in the latest cyanogen rom..sometimes it may even FC but what I do for now is sleep the phone and wake up immediately. Does work but kinda annoying. Only happens on reboots. And nope, u don't need the radio..

That is your apps screen. You can't remove stuff from there.

Modaco has several extra features and kitchen for premium members so u can select what you want only. Cyanogen is the mastermind behind the root roms and has the best roms imo. Modaco roms are slightly laggy to my experience. But Paul (from modaco) is definitely the pimp of cyanogen's rom tutorial...the basic steps are already on the first post..the extended version is similar to hero post (sticky)..thing is rooting is self-controlled and I personally do not encourage root. It does open the gates to cracks and warez when you have superuser access. Hence, the best I could do is already provided. Remember that we are not on my personal forum so we need to be ethical

Nope..depends on what you define as lag..different systems have different dimensions..turn off live wallpapers and see it go..iphone literally doesn't have a home screen..if u get what I mean choose your widgets wisely..that's my advice

there's actually a guide that i used on androidandme (google that) for rooting using cyanogen N1 Addon. (I didnt use this addon, instead i used cyanogen mod 5.0.3)

use it at your own risk (i got bootloop after i flashed, hopefully you dont have it hahaha)

Can I ask cm-5.0.4.1 user, in some apps / games / or even the OS itself do u think your nexus one touch screen bcomes less responsive as stock OS ?
I do feel..especial when I play a game called "jewels"


I have to touch a few times only i managed to switch a jewel..
this definately wont happened on stock OS..



Allrite, would like to share my 1st day using CM5.0.4.1...
this ROM I believe is specially designed for the people who likes speed..
I feel so smooth, so fast, so good on my N1 now..
damn fast...

Wow so I think I gonna root it later after I go home since it speed up my phone

i haven't tested camera and video cam application..not sure is there any improvement..
