first time doing rooting on my nexus one..
I flashed the update-cm 5.0.4.1-n1 signed.zip and gapps-passion-ere36b-2-signed.zip then reboot my phone..
it has no error msg in between but now my phone was in the loading screen for first time reboot, it just keep loading non stop for 5 minutes already, my phone now is hot and doesnt show up to booted screen..

the nexus one loading screen is like 20 mins already..
did you wipe before flashing the CM custom rom? If not, wipe and reflash again. hope this helps!first time doing rooting on my nexus one..
