Woooh,
I like scarlett bird (natural dried board). Post the pic here Subang, I want to see. I did not find it so I bought a Dun Huang instead. I was just desparete to have one to commence practising asap. I am interested in Xian. I believe we do not have direct flight to Xian. What's the hurry to go this year end? Anyway we have lots of time to cover this topic by the well. My guzheng is a bit above the entry level. Costed me about RM3000. I wonder if those fiber glass thingy can really transmit the sound into the sound box. The second one has a wooden sound board but I question the ability of the fiber glass casing to contain the sound. I think it is a display set. I initially guess it cost 10k. |

Wow,
Nice guzheng, but I think they got higher end wan lah. It is nice to go there and get your customised carving. I suggest you find a place like pasar seni. They have people who could just write a poem when you give them your name. You give name and word guzheng and ask them to write you a poem. Then carve that poem on the guzheng. |

I did not read your mind. I merely spoke out my own intentions. Previously I mention one 王中山 VCD that comes with the purchase of my guzheng. I notice he had words carved to reflect his name on his guzheng. When he show the back of the guzheng while on the topic of "parts of the guzheng", he had his name and id # written out. Considering this guy does so many performances, it would be nice to have the guzheng properly identified.
You dont know how to choose the carving or the guzheng? Guzheng is about wood. Look at the grains. Loose grains at the low notes and tight grains at the high note are the ideal. This is some physic thingy. Since you know about the sound stuff when we were talking about MPO hall. You should be able to figure this logic. Very much goes in to how they select the tree to chop for such specs. |

Chang An the old name for Xian is a nice place. It had been made the capital under several dynasties. I always wanted to visit it. When I found out that is was home of the Scarlett Bird factory all the more I want to go there. The tong tree also originate from this place. Going there by this year is a bit too soon. Anyway we will talk by the well Subang.

Never mind Cindi, you learn the paino and guitar first then learn the guzheng. All of us here will give you the necessary guidance. I am thinking of going to the keyboard after the guzheng
