If that's the case, you're really lucky man. My agent wants to collect a small fees from me before proceed to apply the visa for me. That's what I dont understand too. The agent say they are owned by the University but they will need us to pay a small service fees before proceed with visa application. Otherwise, I will need to apply myself. doh.gif

Just apply for it online yourself.

Most of us did (well, I did anyway hehe). Its pretty simple stuff really. You just have to follow all the instructions that they give.

I couldn't be bothered to pay people money, no matter how small, if I can get the same thing done myself.

Just keep posting to the forum if you need any help throughout the process, I remember spamming inboxes with my own questions tongue.gif We'll try to help as much as possible (or as much time allows since finals are approaching + assignments are due)..

Well my agent is IDP as well. Application fee to the university is free. But when come to visa application, they need to charge us service fee also. As far as understand, student visa and student dependent visa application is quite straight forward.

some agents do not require payments from u... like mine, he's working for several universities, to look for potential students, and sign with the agent to look for universities. They paid the agent for every application brought in by the agents

In anticipation of the increased accommodation queries that will inevitably come as the second intake approaches. I would like to share some information for those intending to study, and subsequently, rent in Queensland.

http://www.qut.edu.au/sharehousing/rentolo...tologypage.html

It is a rather good flash based "game" which informs the player on their rights and responsibilities as a renter in Queensland made by QUT with the help of the QLD RTA. Even if you have been renting all this while, its not a bad thing to give the game a spin, as the rules have changed, and even I found somethings that I didn't know through this interactive way of obtaining information.

It is not the last word, and any dispute will be resolved through the (new) Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008 (Qld), but it is a good starting point.

Do note that while significant efforts have been made to harmonise the different renting laws across Australia, this only applies to Queensland. Students in other states should look very carefully at the specific renting laws of their state.

Hmm...that's really interesting now..i thought they have some sort of integrated blacklist among telcos...once you're in the blacklist, you cannot register a new line under any telco...even malaysia has that system..it's difficult to imagine aus doesn't use that..

I'm not aware of any general blacklist among telcos either, but I know in the US, they have a publicly available credit scoring system in which service providers generally look into when you sign up for a service. If you don't pay your bills, you'll get a poor score which will affect your chances of securing loans, buying a car, home, etc.

telco do credit check when each customer sign up..i guess they will check any blacklist for your name..
but i don't know how the person can still sign with another telco hmm.gif
but if you dont pay a bill in australia, will malaysia know about it too?
and outstanding bill will be increase a lot once u nvr pay for long ago?
