What are you talking about ?! Monash Clayton (MBBS) went from 52000 AUD in 2010 to 56800 AUD this year - how about that for inflation !!!!

I'd say if you have the money and the grades, might as well try UK first before Australia.

Oh and by the way, it's still cheaper than Perdana University biggrin.gif

Guys, are the proposed dates of arrival and departure on the visa application very important? I may think I know when I'm arriving but how could I know when I am departing?

Thanks.

Okay, this is the first time I heard of such an institution, googled it up and was utterly shocked shocking.gif The fees are too unrealistic for local standards. If I have that sum of money I will definitely go overseas laugh.gif

Nah, JPA is coughing up money to "fund" the students at Perdana; this pretty much sums up how taxpayers' money is spent in this country lol

Hmm, if I travelled to Australia a few years ago, that probably means I needed (and got) a Visa.

How do I possibly recall the dates of this? The form suggests I have to enter details for it.

Put your departure as when you expect to finish your course in Australia.

Do you have any past documentation? The dates need not be pin-point accurate, but reasonably close.

In any case, if it is was a while ago, it is of little relevance. I doubt you'll be denied a 573 on this grounds.

Thanks for replying.

I've visited Australia several times, but I can hardly remember the year exactly. I do not know if it was ETA or an actual Visa, and I won't be able to answer properly.

So fees alone will set one back around RM1m. I wonder if Yr 12 grades are good enough to get into Monash MBBS, whether uk universities like Uni of Edinburgh will consider the student for its medical program. Anyone?

the process of applying for uk med school starts 1 full year before, and includes sitting for ukcat/bmat tests.........

while i have known many with oz year 12 qualifications being accepted into many courses, i have not know anyone being admitted into medicine.....in any case, it makes no sense why anyone would do a year 12 programme when intending to go to uk.....just go do a-levels......which is also perfectly acceptable for entry into oz.....and actually an easier pathway into critical courses in oz...........

Right as your thinking may be, the continued fee hike and currency appreciation would make UK seem a better alternative to those now currently doing yr 12. Decisions were probably made when the currency was hovering around 2.70. These are valid reasons, as not all parents have deep pockets.

then i think you are stucked........either you stay on in oz and bear the financial pain, or change course, and go to uk.........

the 3rd option is of course, imu-pms.......and then choose uk at matching........90% chance you will get uk......

Exactly! People diss A Levels all the time and go for SAM, AUSMAT, HSC, CPU etc, when A Levels or IB are perfectly acceptable, take only slightly longer if at all (many people happen to extend their 1 year courses), and are in many ways superior.

for people who intend to go to oz for non-critical courses, year 12 is perfectly acceptable pathway.......but if one is thinking of trying critical courses, it is actually easier with a-levels......just that you will be delayed 1 year........
