I know, its a bit redundant offering the application to be submitted online when you still have to physically walk into a MAS office, pay, and if you want to submit online, show receipt of payment during the online submission.
*
Exactly! I thought of that as well. Yup, agree with you. Might as well just submit all documents to the MAS office. Thanks to all who've responded. The temperature in Perth is going down. No more 25++ T.T.

Actually I'd prefer single digit temperature than any temperate above 20degree. =]

Agreed!! 15-28 is my fav. =p. The worst deg I can bear without spoiling my mood is 12 degrees. LOL. Anyway I was randomly looking through my uni's faculty staff profiles and I was quite shocked some of them PHD right away after their Bachelor's degree. I wonder how do they do that. They must be real genius.

zeke'stah, By july/august u will miss the heat and the sun. Trust me. i experience that. Constantly below 14 for months is not a very nice idea. But like now, morning 20 degree but at night 9 degree is just perfect. For me though.

seriously, like hihihehe said, it's no fun. We're having 5C in Hobart and I'm freezing at night. Being lethargic all the time, and cocooning myself in my quilt =/ having 15-20 is just ideal, but not below 10. and guess what? it's not even winter yet. yays.

Hi all,

I'll be going to Perth in July to further my studies.
I am aware that in July, it will be Winter.
Could anyone here suggest me what to bring over as a preparation for Winter? smile.gif

It's not an uncommon thing. The minimum academic requirement to enter a PhD programme is an Honours Degree so you can do it straight away. A Masters Degree is not really needed.

HAHAHA!! Dude, why skinnies in particular? LMAO. I guess everyone in Aussie is quite busy during this coming month as finals are approaching. Libraries are ALWAYS full with students and all the computers are occupied almost all the time. Even those in secluded areas. =[ Many assignments are due in this 2 weeks. Crazy weeks man. Good luck to those with assignmentS and testS. rclxub.gif

My friends who have settled as well for more than a year suggested that no doubt the temp drops to 0 deg at night. Probably 7-9 degrees max during the day. I would suggest you follow up what zekestah has suggested. Btw, I'm now in UWA too. Doing undergrad first yr. =p

Gosh guys, just received my mid-sem results. 3 out of 4 is in stable condition and the other 1 I was not really happy with, probably that was my first time getting used with uni's exam. I have 1 big assignment and 2 more weekly assignments to go before the final exam approaches. Tomorrow there will be a 10% test conducted. Next sem will be a pain in the ... My contact hours will increase from 11 to 16 hrs.

Anyway, just askin'. Do you guys like having lectures/tutes beginning in the early morning, or during afternoon. Prefer breaks in between or just go through all in one shot?

@Lawl, agreed. Sometimes I don't even have time to go through the textbooks. Lecture notes is a must! Some units I'll go through with online lectures, and some will go through textbooks.

Personally, as long as I don't have classes between the hours of 6pm-8pm, I'm usually fine. I prefer having classes early in the day to get it out of the way so I have the rest of the day available.

Some people cram their timetables to slot fit all their classes in 2-3 days a week, with little or no breaks in between. I prefer it to be a bit more spread out. That, and QUT's timetabling ican be horrible.

since I live pretty near to uni, I kinda spread out my classes from Monday to Thursday. I get one day off XD
I enrolled quite late leaving me not much choice ahaha but my schedule is pretty good. I'm ok as long as I don't have to start at 8 am XD
I start at 10 and have an hour or so break in the middle to get some lunch then go one shot as much as I can unless the venue for one class is at one side of the uni and another one at another side, I don't want to rush from place to another in just a few minutes ahaha.
I have two lectures like that on Thursday though since I didn't have any other choice that didn't clash >_< I start at two at one side of uni finish the lecture at 3.50 (though usually ends earlier) and rush off to the other side for another lecture.
