I wouldn't say I'm 100% convinced we can win this Sunday to be honest. Its not that I don't believe in the team, I do... but Man U's current form coupled with the morale-boosting Carling Cup win will give them the slight edge heading into the match.

However, the positive that we can take with us is that we outplayed them the last time but just that we lacked a bit of cutting edge when it matters.

I'd be satisfied if we drew this match.

Good to know that Song and Eboue is back. Verm should be rested because we have Chelsea and Liverpool after this weekend.

QUOTE(Quick` @ Jan 28 2010, 10:53 PM)
quite a handfull of you guys, can even predict a lost when the game havent even started yet. this is the part i hate the most.
i thought it would only come from the pretender, but now it is coming from a few gooners fan itself
oh my oh my, i only got this to tell you guys

Believing is everything, EVERYTHING. Start believing in your team now, thats the very least you can do
dont give up asthough we are 10-15 points adrift from Chelsea, id still understand if fan's start giving up if we are 10-15 pts adrift...but the gap is still so lil, a win againts them can change things.
we are only 1 point below MU, MU can still win the title, why not us?
such weak faith. tsk tsk

suite you guys
but im still backing the team FTW this weekend.

dont let me see you guys posting if we do beat MU,
ima quote every single of those post and bump it in your face.

This is one of the reason why score prediction is pretty pissed tongue.gif

You may state that a draw is a decent result or something general like that but if you said Arsenal will lose 3 goals, it's just too dis-motivating.

Rather than stating the "score", I think using descriptive words is more appropriate like we will win marginal, we will win big and a draw is good enough etc.

Anyway, as mentioned by StarGhazzer, these do not serve any points of discussion because it's not a fact tongue.gif

but then again one should nv predict their own team to lose lar,it is just not right. dont you think so...
eventhough if we feel the odds is againts us. its just plain stupid and ridiculious
usually we will predict our team to win(probably not all likes it,but its not a bad thing compare to --> but to predict own team to lose is like waffak?!?!!?!

yea an example of descriptive style post is like Zan81 post^ few post from the above..probably the right way do it.
but i doubt we can drill this into the rest. forget it lol, i rest my case
move on move on.

i've predicted arsenal lost a few time.. how glad i am to be wrong..
sometimes, if i think with my head.. given the numbers, forms etc.. most of the time will be against arsenal.. if playing other on forms or more consistent team..

however, in my heart, i always want the best for arsenal.. meaning 3 points.
so i hope i'll be wrong again this time around.

That's it ! thumbup.gif We are the fans, the SUPPORTer. We suppose to support the team all the way regardless how good is the opponent or how poor we are. Don't you feel shame to call yourself a gooner if you don't even have a little faith with Arsenal and concede a match even before it is started ?

BENDTNER VOWS TO LEAD TITLE CHARGE
Posted 28/01/10 15:26

user posted image

Nicklas Bendtner is ready to grab the chance to finally establish himself as an Arsenal first team regular - and sustain their title hopes - ahead of a trio of crunch Barclays Premier League games.

And the Denmark international is confident the Gunners are "capable of winning every game" after hauling themselves back into contention via a 10-game unbeaten run which has yielded 24 points.

Bendtner returned after a three month lay-off following groin surgery as a substitute in Wednesday night's goalless league clash at Aston Villa.

It is a timely comeback as Eduardo suffered a hamstring strain which Gunners boss Arsene Wenger confirmed would rule him out of Sunday's home meeting with Manchester United.

With Robin van Persie still sidelined with the ankle injury sustained on international duty with Holland, it is an opportunity for Bendtner to prove his worth, especially with Wenger reported to be searching for a new striker.

The Gunners visit Chelsea and then entertain Liverpool after facing the Red Devils.

Bendtner said: "We have a lot of big games coming up. I've only trained one time with the team and played half an hour at Villa and everything feels okay.

"We will see how I am during the week and hopefully things will keep progressing so I will be 100% when the weekend comes.

"If Eduardo is out, am I ready to come in? I wouldn't be here if I was wasn't ready. If I play Sunday, I will be ready as well and Manchester United is the sort of big game you'd love to come back into.

"Is this a chance to become the number one striker? That is my plan. Is it achievable? Of course.

"Why am I so confident? It is simple. I am a good player. I've always had that belief. People ask me everytime we speak 'why are you like that?' and that's just the way it is.

"If I didn't think I could do it, I wouldn't be standing here telling you I could!"

Bendtner admitted: "These games coming up will have a big bearing on the title. We have fought to get ourselves into a good position.

"We have three big matches, and a few more which are quite important, and we need to get as many points as we can from those.

"We have done really well. We have got ourselves into a great position now where we are fighting at the top of the league.

"We know why we have got here and we are capable of winning every game and winning the championship and that is why we are focused."

Bendtner does not believes United's gruelling Carling Cup extra-time semi-final win over Manchester City will hand Arsenal an advantage for Sunday's game.

He said: "People ask if the semi-final will have taken a lot out of United but they are a big team, they prepare well for every game and I am sure they will be just as ready as we are on Sunday."

Bendtner is delighted to be back in action after such a lengthy lay-off after aggravating his groin problem against Tottenham in late October.

He said: "It is so good to be back and to taste the atmosphere, the smell of the grass, everything. It is just fantastic.

"I don't think you realise when you are out for so long how much you miss it and, when you come back, you are so happy."

Wenger was today awaiting the results of x-rays to determine the extent of defender Thomas Vermaelen's leg injury sustained at Villa Park admidst fears he may have suffered a fracture.

bendtner already fire up...this is good...but he really must prove his worth and take this chance well...

what he must improve are:
1) be more aggressive & utilize his physical advantage to make opposition defender uneasy...
2) improve his positioning...be at the right place at the right time (this is important.. ruud van nistelrooy proved striker in EPL not necessarily must be strong or pacey but just enough to be goal poacher)
3) improve finishing & shooting technique

so, if he can improve in those three area, i think he's a complete striker already.... hehe..

go bendtner !! rclxms.gif

I still have confident on Campbell. He is still decent player to me. If he stays back and doesn't attack, it will be more than enough to stop Rooney. I got the feeling Wenger will play TV this weekend. Anyway, it used to be my dream partner defender, Gallas and Campbell. Their partnership should bond quickly. Campbell is TV like defender

TV is injured (luckily not broken bone), Arsene won't take that risk, we have tight and tough fixture.

However, Song and Eboue are back to the squad. So we will have Song, Denilson and Cesc as midfielder this weekend, Eboue will be our right back. The CB should be Gallas and Campbell or Mikeal.

Keown on Rooney
Lehman once said after he left Arsenal that the striker he most feared is Rooney after playing so many seasons in EPL.
Keown reckons that only Campbell can stop Rooney-at his best. I think due to Campbell playing style, with the help of Gallas. It will be fine plus Song's cover. The team need to mark their wings as well. Nani and Valencia. One skillful another very physical
