Well xbox is not the only console that goes online. PS3 is also. And I still prefer PS games cos I like to play japanese games like okami, MGS, onimusha, final fantasy, dragon quest, shadow of colossus and many more. I'm not saying there isnt any game in xbox360 that I like. They got also got some preety neat stuff like doa4, halo3, gears of war, blue dragon, and fable 2.

It's not about online only, it's about providing a much more unique and better online experience, in your living room.

It a standard now for providing more unique and better online experience for every next gen console. Thats why I think sony make the decision on making motion sensor joypad. Same goes to nintendo. It a preety good thing you know, cos kids are more likely to play electronic games then sports now. With motion sensor addon to the joypad, it helps to train the respond from the players and sort of emotionly as well.

Nintendo = motion sensor
Sony = tilt sensor

The difference is massive.

My mistake. By the way in the word of war between microsoft and sony, its unfair for nintendo because microsoft's representative, moore drags nintendo into this stupid word of war. There's nothing to do with nintendo. Just because they are also creating a next gen console too doesnt meant that they have to play along this kids stuff. All they want is to create fun games.

Does it all matter. The reality in Malaysia is, whichever console gets modded first, it will take off in a disproportionate manner.

Until of course the console trend reverse and it makes more market sense to crack and clone Nintendo console game once more. Then the impetus to get Wii would really take off here.

Sad but true.

Most of next gen pretty much emphasize on network...even Wii (connected 24/7, although you try to shut down your machine but it still wana stay awake to download... )

So because of that...it's pretty much like the pc scene, people still have the 'will' to get ori because of its online element, which could include games update, new content bla bla bla.

HeavenNirvana, 1st moore pull nintendo down because it benefits microsoft, and no damage to nintendo also.
2nd...latest intel from FBI inform me that Nintendo office is just across Xbox office. On top of that, there are quite a number of Nintendo staff in Microsoft xbox team.
3rd...Moore believe Microsoft can co-exist with Nintendo. Probably that explain why you see Microsoft games on NDS.

I belive that is from the studio MS purchased from Nintendo (UK based Rare, makers of Perfect Dark). MS has their own studio long before entering the console war.

And Rare (a MS studio) hiring people to make NDS games.

But I know Sony always have a record of exaggrating its console's function and capabilities.
I'm thinking of buying Wii and PS3 by the way.
But xbox 360? Might consider if it has games that I want to play(I meant those exclusive that interest me).

My thought on ps3 is...wait till they got the real thing on show floor first. Heck, even the ps3 Assasin Creed is rumoured to be running on a xb360 with sheets covering. The article was later remove from various site (included ign, evilavatar) but no words of it being false claim either, ubisoft refuse to comment on it as well.

Currently they are promising just wayyyyyyy too many stuff that i don't believe will make it to the final product. Like hdd-issues, running linux, internet, download games, unified network etc etc but till now they don't even have the screenshot to show!!!!(and ps3 is due out this november!)
Xbox live took 1 generation to build & enhance, Steam network took few years!!
Even their supposely free 'half'-unified online service wasn't mention in e3, just the word 'basic package' will be free.

Luckily xb360 is run by microsoft, if it's Sega..xb360 is dead by now with E3 2005 hype train.
IMO, the only upperhand Sony have now is their strong exclusive title and their branding (you ask anyone, it's a Sony)

the reason microsoft is launching its HD DVD add on for its XBox 360 is because Sony is incorporating Blu-ray in its PS3. Microsoft said that its game will not be in HD DVD format but the standard DVD9. Sony claim XBox 360 games quality is at the standard of PS2. But Microsoft claims that 360 games are already hitting the 720p HD definition. If Sony's claim is true, then their PS2 games are HD games, why wasnt that used in the marketing campaign for PS2? If what microsoft is claiming is valid that a DVD9 of 8G capacity is enough to store HD games why would game playing customers forced to pay higher price for a 25G and 50G format in the form of Blu-ray in PS3.

contrary to the launch of Grand Auto Theft 3 on PS2 platform first before XBox. Grand Auto Theft 4 will be launch either simultanouse on the two platforms or on the latter platform first (cant really fault them because Xbox 360 has been out more than half a year.

The question remain is will PS3 be launch in time for Santa to put in present boxes by November this year. The Inquirer has cautious consumers as Sony havent even come out with the prototype during the E3 - 6 months prior to the release date. What about the production line for the PS3?

well i think the ps3 will be great fun to play.... i've been waiting for it since it was announced...its just that i'm a little disappointed with all the delays and specs changing and stuff...

Its not fair to compare the graphic quality of the game that u see rite now between the Xbox360 and the PS3. U got to consider that the Xbox360 games demo that shown at E3 are well into the 2nd gen games for the console. Meanwhile the games demo shown for the ps3 are in-development 1st gen games for ps3. To really say which console is better than the other at this point is absurd. I really do think that Nintendo is a stronger fighter for this gen than the last one...

PS2 has always been about the pushing the machine to its limit to create a great game, just like what we've seen in GT series, Gods of War, etc.. I do hope this trend will continue on the PS3. On the other hand, most of the games on the xbox are compelling yet most of them didnt harness the full power of the xbox. Its such a waste really when seeing a lot of power is being wasted like that. Even some of the game on the PS2 are at par with the XBox performance in term of graphic n gameplay. And one game in particular that prove that is Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction. I opted the PS2 version is better than the XBOX.. why just because of the DSII controller (the jellybean like button on the xbox really does suck away all the fun). Both version are almost equal in term of graphic and performance.

As for Nintendo, they put the capital F in "Fun". Most of their games are simple, addictive and enjoyable. Gotta love them for that!!

I personally am waiting for the PS3, but im still keeping and open mind about the XBOX360. And i really want to test Wii .

All and all, its the developers that will help the companies win in this gen. They will work hard to make greater and better games. If they manage to squeeze more effort to it, their games will surely be on the gamers A list. And guess what.. no matter which platform we choose... we still win.. gamers always got the fun while the developer work their @$$ to give us great games ...

i'm getting more and more tempted by the wii with every second that passes... heck i even have a wii wallpaper on my dashboard... hahahahaha....

as for the ps3, i think that if the price is not jacked up too much when it arrives on malaysian shores, it would be a rather viable buy based on the games lineup alone... like anyone would pass a chance to play the next final fantasy....

At the moment, I don't see any games that make me wanna purchase a PS3. Maybe FFXIII, but we all know that Square will take its time, and we probably won't see it a while after launch.

Wii on the other hand, has some interesting games. If Zelda and Mario Galaxy is there at launch, I'm sooooo getting the Wii as fast as I can. Not to mention that the next Smash Bros is scheduled not too far away from the launch....and will feature Konami characters. Should be excellent...
