From what i understand to use CWG is
We place the order, for example im using http://shop.vans.com/
I place the order cost $180, then i pay by using CC
Set the shipping address to address that CWG give me
So my question is, when the item arrive to the CWG address then they will notice us or we notice them that we make the purchase that the item will be ship to their address ?
Then we make the make payment to them using CC or Paypal ?
Am i correct ?

1 more, if im using CIMB e.MasterCard (can i ?), how much they charge me for foreign transaction

Thought of using via address at first but after reading the whole thread i think i'll go for HSG

I got questions about HSG. What courier service their using?
And what if barang kene tahan kastam, so how should we pay the tax.
They'll pay first for us or what? icon_question.gif

Thanks guys smile.gif

Never try Broderlinx, so I can't be much of help.
Try CGW (comgateway), they are offering reasonable rates =)

CGW has it. Usually I use concierge, but last purchase from F21, I used my CC and it works.
So, no more 7% extra concierge fee.

It is.. TS might want to consider changing the topic title to Forwarding Company =)

HSG? They are CGW right? Paying by Paypal?
HSG and CGW are using the same courier, DHL. If let say your parcel kena tahan, they will inform you.
If you are willing to pay, only then they send thee item to you with the tax, invoice.

You'll pay to the courier guy.

Lets say if i buy clothing for $200 using ship it HSG/CGW
Since the total price include shipping surely will exceed RM500.
Do u guys think the package will be taxed?
And is there any other ways to avoid from being tax by kastam? hmm.gif

If you buy from Ebay , then you can declare it because most Ebay seller didn't include any invoice . If other merchant like Amazon , then cannot declare it because they got included invoice in your shipment

ok guys... just want to share my experience here... for the past few months i've been using shipito... so far so good... i did my research and finally settled on them... the pros?... they do consolidation... not repacking mind you... if u send them a few packages, they can actually open them all up and put it all in one box... so it saves quite a lot on shipping... the other thing i like is they also have a few options how they consolidate... and u can also put in a special request (which cost 8.50) for example if u want your items to be handle extra careful etc...

now, for some cons.... just watch out for their storage fees!... each item has a a certain amount of time u can store at their warehouse depending on which package u sign u for... and they only give u a 3 day notification before it expires, which i think is not enough time, if u forget, then they start charging u storage fees, which can be from 1-5US dollars... which can add up to a lot...

the other con is that so far all of my packages form them kena tahan at kastams... i suspect is because they do things too 'proper' and they fill up pro forma forms which states that they allow customs to open and check... also my boxes so far has been quite big lah... but my value has been low, but still, kena tahan...

anyways, just wanted to share my experience.... also, BORDERLINX SUCKS!... their fees way too expensive... tongue.gif

Hi all,
Thanks for all the info posted here - learned a lot! I recently started looking for freight forwarders after having my stuff nicked ALL THE TIME by Pos Hantu Malaysia. I'm considering CGW and HSG now, based on all your recommendations. A few questions though:

1. Isn't HSG almost like CGW, considering HSG is a partnership between CGW and Paypal?
2. Since it's a collaboration with Paypal and they encourage us to use Paypal to pay, even give us Buyer's Protection, why won't Paypal allow us to add a US shipping address?
3. I buy from Ebay and Etsy mostly and use Paypal to pay. Which one between those two is more suitable? I tried to use HSG recently for an Etsy purchase but when checking out I couldn't add the US address! If I have to tell the seller to ship to another address isn't that very troublesome? Some of them specifically states that they only ship to Paypal confirmed address only. How? Is there anyone with experience buying from Ebay or Etsy out there who can advise?

So lost...

Thanks in advance!

Been ages since i gave any comment. When i started, i hv use vpost but then i found viaddress. For almost 8 months, our relationship very good, but in October theor service terus masuk longkang. I have made claimed @ pay pal for almost RM5k, i only managed to get half of it. Coz, pay pal dont consider the payment made to viaddress as physical goods, its rated as services. I have been asking viaddress for almost 5 months, until now, I NEVER RECEIVE ANY SOLID REPLY FROM THEM. So pls advoid viaddress.

Now hopshopgo! Thats mmg my 911 angel after the crisis wt viaddress. To date, they been perfect (hopefully its last). Their online chat always there to assist. They will reply any enquiry within 48 hours. I highly recommend HSG.

As for tax, HSG using DHL, as long the shipment drop @ Subang n didnt reach RM1k n the boxes not that large (usually HSG repack using courier plastic bag), u hardly kena tax. But still depend. Now tax roughly around 10% but its also included the shipping cost. However, if ur shipment drop @ KLIA (any other courier like EMS, USPS, Fed Ex), do ur best to ensure the total shipment below RM600. N if u always courier stuffs from abroad, maybe if below RM600, will be taxable. Again its depend on that kastam officer.

Btw, pay pal hv this policy that no matter what, ur shipping address will stated Malaysia at the end of ur USA address that actually to indicate ur credit card origin. However, some USA merchants like F21, GAP, Old Navy, do accept international credit card payment. U just need to give them a call for verification. Alternatively, just use HSG Buy for Me service and pay 7% service charge. If anything happen to ur parcel, like missing stuff, HSG will deal wt it.

Hope this help.

Anyone have any issues with HSG recently? Order something from Amazon, it arrived in HSG on Monday, till today their system still doesn't show it. Their live chat staff keep telling me to wait. 5 business days is a little too long isn't it?

I waited for 2 days after the parcel arrived at the suite. Nothing to worry, they are trying to match the invoice I suppose.
=)

I received my F21 jeans, woohoo rclxms.gif rclxms.gif
