Just wanna share my experience.
I used HSG when they first launched with the promotion of free 1st 2kg.
Bought Lego from Amazon and according to the shipping volume -it's around 4 pounds. I was so happy I thought my shipping from US-Malaysia would be FOC. Ground shipping was free at that time.

Guess how much was the volumetric weight charged by HSG? 9kg which is close to 20 pounds! cry.gif
HSG said they cant repack for me. Tried to return it back to Amazon but HSG will charge me 20 pounds domestic shipping weight too. So I was left with no choice but to ship to Malaysia. A very expensive Lego set rclxub.gif

When I received the item, it was indeed a very big box, about twice the size of the item but I think it can be repacked in a smaller box. How do you guys ensure that the merchant do not use a very large box when shipping??

Anyway, aside from that, the service from HSG is good.

as per you know amazon usually shipped quite a big boxes no matter your stuff is small or big.. i was headache too dealing with amazon.. but what to do you need to check their amazon shipping weight + the item weight before u plan to purchase.. if u shipped just 1 item back to msia ofcoz the shipping fees will be expensive.. try consolidate many many of your purchase to save the cost...

i have 2 customer purchasing lego at amazon from me.. i charge them on the boxes fees too.. but i have combine shipping every week so they safe more on it.

then your solution is a forwarder who can repackage boxes into one box... so if u buy a few items they can repackage all into one box which saves quite a lot on shipping... i use shipito and they have that service... some other forwarders might have that service too...

Babe, how does HSG charge for repacking?

If I get stuff from like 3 different places, repacking is $10 or $30?

CGW don't do that.. combine all the item in 1 boxes.. i received all the item boxes by boxes or package by package rclxub.gif this cause me a lot of headache everytime i need to arrange where should i put all the boxes in my house sweat.gif it's made my house looks like a warehouse store now doh.gif
i try to ask them why don't consolidate all the boxes into 1 big boxes, they just told me that they don't do this lolz...

but for the good side, boxes came 1 by 1 in 1 shipment can skip from custom for taxing the stuff too.

This is my experience with HSG. Overall, I'm satisfied with my package and the super low shipping cost. My stuff was weight up to 15kg, and they repacked it till 5.5kg only. I tried standard shipping, so it only costed me 60$. I got my item within a week, 3 days international dispatch, 3 days delivery from custom to my address.

The one thing I dont like about them, they replied super late on my email or any inquiries. The live-chat ON also didnt really work out. I gotta wait for about 3-4 minutes for every reply from the agent.

If you dont have any issue with your package, you can just simply proceed and make payment, they'll rightly post your goods the next day. Very fast and efficient.

I have one question though. If I wanna buy makeups or perfumes, how to avoid being caught by custom? If I use HSG, my goods would arrive safe n sound, or I must deal with custom upon releasing the goods? Thank you =D

May I know how did they repack? Unless you buying the durian and you want all the meat only, 67% of reduced weight was just unbelievable.

No, I mean, not the tax imposed by custom.. Tax by online merchant. Viadress said RL tax me for that online purchase.
Any idea why?

I know for sure Oregon and Tennessee are tax-free hmm.gif

it had been a long time, but a little info won't hurt i guess. Despite the taxes imposed by each state, sales tax also depend on the particular business operation. Say, if RL only launch its stores in New York, I don't have to pay any sales tax if I bought the item online and had it shipped to anyway within USA except New York. Too bad RL has stores in every state, so except the states that have zero sales tax or the states who don't tax clothing, e.g. Massachussett, consumers had to pay sales tax.

(There is also Use tax which is really irrelevant if you are in Malaysia, so I will skip that) smile.gif

Before you proceed to shipping, there got option you want to repack or not. 15kg is the volumetric weight. Coach ship the goods in a large box, so HSG repacked them all and wrapped in courier plastic bag. Thats why they can offer you low price hehe. So far, I have no problem with them, and my goods all were in good perfect condition too. Only one problem is that DHL will not update on system whether the item has successfully delivered or not. Normally the last status would be 'Delivery arranged, no details expected'.
