Hi Guys,
I've been reading this super-fast moving thread with lots of excitement as I'm also contemplating whether I should just upgrade my current set.
However, as I'm currently an AstroMax user, I've been wondering about the b.yond setup as I've yet to read any specs about the recording function - I know that they haven't 'released' the HDD-recorder unit yet (supposedly what the USB port is for).
My main question is whether the current unit (widely accepted to be a PACE DS830A unit) is a single tuner or a dual-tuner unit? ie even with a HDD recorder attachment, will the receiver be able to show one channel and record another? If it's a single-tuner, I wouldn't think so (unless the attachment has a built-in tuner?) meaning that you could only record the current channel.
Just a newbie at all this... But since it looks like we've got experts/(ex)installers here, was wondering if anyone knew.

In fact, on the 11th I went to the Astro centre, asking about the Byond. They say they don't have it, but later they call me up on that same day, telling me they have the decoder set up in their shop. So can say the Astro centre in Miri, is the only one so far that I know, that got Byond installed since 11th Dec! |
