erm...from wat i read in other forum...(i mean iphone as an example now) d wifi signal we have 2 connect by ourselves but 3g or edge or gprs it will connect automatically...n if d phone found tat d wifi signal is poor then it will automatically switch to 3g or edge...
Izit mean d priority will always go for 3g instead wifi?
Or it will choose d 1 which having stronger signal?

N using tis types of smart plan...i think we should sign up a data plan in order not 2 get horrible charges...rite? :-)

WIFI you need to connect manually assuming you're in a new location and that WIFI has not been saved in a profile before. Also if the new WIFI location requires login, you need to establish authentication first.

WIFI is always priority. Its just that when you're in a location with weak WIFI signal, you will be disconnected and your phone will automatically fall back to your 3G/Edge/GPRS radio. This is indicated by the change in icon from WIFI to 3G or whatever is available.

true .. you need to wait for the Desire launch in HTC Malaysia first . Then wait for 3 4 months for digi come out with new plan , because it is not something that can directly implement.

yeah , actually Desire is almost 98% similar to the nexus one ,
nexus one less 64mb of RAM, Desire less one microphone .

actually 512mb RAM is very sufficient , I have running 7 8 apps in background but I still have 140mb of RAM left . If you can wait , then get Nexus . I bought Desire because of the design only.. lol

What about the Sense UI? Isn't that the biggest difference between N1 and Desire?

yes if u need sense ui..n1 can get sense ui too with root
desire can get vanilla android without root...

today once again i play htc desire at my local telco..n i compare with HD2.found out HD2 smoother a bit than desire when scrolling pages..mayb due to "heaviness" sense ui for desire..so i turn off live wallpaper n compare with hd2(live walpaper) and still hd2 smoother...
n i like the clock animation from HD2..it will flip the pages up after minute..

I don't think we need to wait that long after the official launch from HTC. I remembered the Legend was launched recently and Digi quickly launched the DG Smart Plan together.

Didn't know Desire doesn't have that clock animation. As I know it has the similar weather animation from HD2. How about the feel between these 2 devices? I have hold the HD2 before it seems solid.

That means there is no way for us to close the wifi or 3g usage in the phone itself like winmo? shocking.gif

Yes you can as far as I know (i'm on Maxis) you can set your phone to 3g or 2g and you can off mobile internet with just a switch of a button via screen widget and it's smart enough to switch to wifi if you are in your "remembered" wifi connection.

I normally turn off all sync and 3g/hsdpa/edge via a switch of a button when I don't want to sync anything or use the internet.

at first i thought desire have the clock animation but i asked z3r0,he dun think have. i try play myself but cant find any setting for it hmm.gif
personally, i like the overall design of HD2. is not really bulky,is just wider with 4.3" screen which is suitable for Windows OS(windows always have big icons) but it will be perfect for android...by holding HD2, it really feels like PDA and professional tongue.gif
but unfortunately, it comes with WM6.5 which is final OS and cant have new WM7 in future

I believe you can disable 3G/GSM radio. There's an app that changes the APN so it will not work anymore. But I can't be sure if it works for Desire or not. Last I know, it doesn't work on Nexus One for some reasons. So need to find alternative software.

For WIFI, you can utilize the standard widget or toggle widgets. So you have a lot of control on the kind of connection you want to use.

But i think i dont have problem on doing that with the nokia i m using since i can switch to gsm or umts only plus can switch off the wifi scanning. No such function in desire? Any current desire user can answer that? I still prefer to have the data plan, just dun need it to on all the time to save the battery life...

How to unroot your Desire. You must first know what stock rom you are running on.
