QUOTE(izanee @ Apr 14 2010, 04:08 PM) I've asked a few shops and some said will release early May and some said end of may.... the HTC reps didn't give a date during yesterday's launch of the legend, smart & HD mini also. For sure it'll come in May, just chill and focus on other devices such as the ipad or MBP. LOLHopefully early May... this waiting game is torturing me...!!! |

QUOTE(maliqu3 @ Apr 20 2010, 03:05 AM) Thanks guys for the answer... 1. not at the moment because desire and legend have not been rooted (officially)another questions: 1. can we install market enabler on desire/legend so that the paid apps will appear? and 2. which one of these 3 (desire, legend, iphone 3GS) has scratch-resistant screen? 3. which one is worth to buy by looking at the price and what we will get? 2. desire and legend's screen are glass so they are harder to get scratched, however I still suggest you get a screen protector or a casing or whatnot. 3. it's all up to your budget and choices. Desire is not out yet but it'll be a real big hit altho there are a few problems which most people can live with. |

QUOTE(davidmak @ Apr 22 2010, 05:32 PM) I wonder if it will play nice with HTC's Sense UI. Otherwise, it could be a straight forward update. I guess Nexus One will get it first and followed by others. yea that's right. Nexus one will be showcase with android 2.2 + adobe air at the google i/o conference on 19th may. with the sense ui in place by HTC it'll take sometime for them to release it to the htc phones. here are few news on it http://androidandme.com/2010/04/news/andro...es-do-you-want/ http://www.androidguys.com/2010/04/21/adob...droid-platform/ http://androidandme.com/2010/04/news/5-rea...t-at-google-io/ |

QUOTE(davidmak @ Apr 30 2010, 01:03 PM) There's a reason why HTC Desire AP is expensive. Its hard to get, no signs of original units yet and it is highly sought after. Naturally, traders would like to take advantage on that. Its capitalism. Still we will have early enthusiast buying them. good post. Makes sense. We've seen these pricing trends for a lot of times. Let me quote some examples: 1. Nokia 5800. Nokia's very first Symbian S60 touch phone. Took sometime to get here too. The AP came and was priced RM1800-2000. Then few weeks later, original units started selling and the price was a big shock. RM16xx and dropping, lower than what AP traders speculated. AP price went down to RM1300. Second hand AP units was being dumped at RM1000 and below. Original units finally settled at RM13xx +/-. This incident burnt a lot of fingers. 2. Motorola Milestone Sold around RM2000-2200 for AP. 1 month later original units started selling and was priced at RM22xx. The AP price go down to RM15xx-18xx. If we see any trends, original price will usually replace the AP's initial price point. So RM2399-2499 potential price point for Desire is very real. Of course this is just a guess. I see this as a strategy to compete with parallel importers. Trying to undercut their margin and discourage potential buyers. This post has been edited by r47z: Apr 30 2010, 01:16 PM |

as I understand that you can "unroot" your phone, Paul did mention bout this in the xda forum. 3 days after his he posted up the rooting instructions it have totalled up to about 45+ pages. Lazy to go through the whole thing. But he did mention about unrooting. When it's done, you can return your phone to HTC and still be eligible for the warranty.

QUOTE(draco82 @ May 3 2010, 02:57 PM) Yes you can as far as I know (i'm on Maxis) you can set your phone to 3g or 2g and you can off mobile internet with just a switch of a button via screen widget and it's smart enough to switch to wifi if you are in your "remembered" wifi connection. I normally turn off all sync and 3g/hsdpa/edge via a switch of a button when I don't want to sync anything or use the internet. |

I got the item, but haven't make payment as the person(company) is based in Damansara (stated Johor in the ebay). I've done some research and it seems like the seller is known for good pricing albeit the late deliveries. Will see what is the response. This post has been edited by r47z: May 5 2010, 10:32 PM |
