Sorry for the late reply LazyChildren, yeah they're right. Stick to kit lens. 18-135mm has more zoom than 18-55mm. EF 50mm is a prime lens. Don't worry, you will know more when you get your DSLR. tongue.gif

sony tx-5 if u need water and shock resistance...sony tx-7 for better video IINM..

both are bloody thin as well.. biggrin.gif

guys, is the nowadays digital camera are close or comparable with dslr camera nowadays?

my digital camera just burned last week and planning to buy new one but I dont like the bulky dslr but at the same time I need some good quality photo shooting.

any comment or suggestion?

if you are talking about compacts which cost a bomb like the g11 then yes, the quality is close.

if you are talking about compacts below rm1500, then no, its not really comparable. unless the situations are not very demanding such as landscape photography with good lighting.

u can have a look at sony's NEX series though..it uses SLR sensors but at a compact size biggrin.gif

I want to know the differences between 3 of these DSLR. Cant really decide which to pick up. So i am seeking some advices . Thanks for helping.

Canon 500D and Nikon D3100 got 30fps in 1280x720 but nikon 5000 dun have right?

ah ya , weight is not a problem for me. Either heavy or light .

550D would be best choice..... price range around kl is 2799-2999 complete set with tripod bag and 8gb card
