g2 has the lcd i love that can self potrait without being blocked by tripod.

Planning to get Canon powershot S5is. Can anyone tell me is there any available lens that can be use by this specific camera S5? I know that S5 is a Semi-Pro camera but I want to know is there any possible lens compatible with it.

i think it's pretty safe to say, apart from canon S90 and G11/G10, no other compacts can beat LX3. S90/G10/G11 can say 'got fight' la...diff ppl diff preferences. but IMO these 4 is bttr than any other compacts out there

first of all, the olympus pen EP-1 is not a dslr also now got E-P2 and E-PL1. can also consider panasomic lumix GF-1. not sure about EP2 and EPL1 but EP1 and GF1 is under 3k. extra 1k u can spend on flash, or viewfinder, good bag, spare battery, extra memory cards etc. but if u get the camera with 20mm f/1.7 pancake lens (arnd rm1.3k i guess), u'll get much much better portraits it wont do much for landscape though

pretty big budget for a compact there maybe canon SX120IS? if u really want good concert shots, the best way is to get as close to the stage as possible. so spend the balance for a better ticket!

g2 and micro not yet come out how to compare...

I already bought the most expensive ticket, but i cant take the picture with my SE Satio even with a 12.1mp camera phone, after zoom, the picture still sux. that actually makes me wanna buy a camera. but i look at the picture on the camera, it looks bulky leh, u sure we can smuggle that into the concert hall ar?

that's because it's a phone...even 2mp camera u buy in 2002 can beat current 12mp phone u know..

to me it's not that bulky in real life. maybe can also consider lumix tz7? im assuming u need long zoom here though. if u want really2 good concert photos like in magazines u need a dslr with good lens...which is very hard to smuggle lah haha

specs is specs ma... have to wait for launching n review n play hands on, then can say.. hehe

no la, what i wan is at least can see the artist face and know it is that particular artist's concert i attended when i post it at facebook. coz i try to take with the camera phone, u will see those petak petak after we zoom it too much and can't even see the face clearly. so in conclusion, i wan the smallest camera that can give me the best quality picture if i take from about 20m-50m distance. At least they dun give me the petak petak after i zoom it. Sorry coz i am a noob here, all the while i assume that since those SE phone comes with cybershot, so i persume that it works the same as a digicam. That's why i keep changing mobile phone and didn't think of getting a camera last time until recently i saw a picture taken from my aunt's 8mp digicam is much clearer than my phone, then i start to think wanna get 1 to smuggle into concert halls

lol that's the power of branding my fren too bad it's not powerful enough to conquer physics hehehe. u need a camera that has good zoom, fast lens n good ISO performance. lumix LX3 n canon S90 has good lens n pretty good ISO performance for a compact, but both lacking zoom lah

A better idea - if it's just one or two concerts, just ask your friends/family to loan you a camera to use for the day.

Other than that, the best superzoom compact I've seen till now is the Panasonic Lumix TZ7. Other than that there's the Canon Powershot series, not sure which model is good though, cause I've not been a fan of superzooms.

Unfortunately, you'll have to stick with Olympus' mediocre image quality, as no other brands have made waterproof shockproof and these kinda stuff cameras. There's a Canon Powershot D10 though if you're interested. It should be performing on par with Canon's standards.

Not really looking for a recommendation here but wanna ask something.
Yesterday, I went to LYP looking for Lumix ZR1 point and shoot camera. Found 2 shops selling this model for a different price that comes with a different warranty period. This one shop is selling it for RM1180 with 1 year of warranty while the other one is RM1300 for 2 years of warranty.

My question is, is it reasonable for a year of warranty priced for almost Rm200? Which one should I go with?

dun say almost rm200... it's just rm120. extra rm120 for one more year of not worrying abt ur camera, for me it's reasonable. i dunno how much warranties are supposed to cost though
