got money 1.4 lo...smile.gif....
i am using 1.8D la...i am afraid 1.4 might be hard to control because of the shallow DOF:)
85mm 1.8D DOF is already pretty shallow for me

Get the 1.4, shoot at 1.8-2.8...
If you intend to shoot F4 or higher, get the 1.8 enough...
But i seldom shoot wide open, usually stop down a little.

I usually stop my 50mm F1.8 down to either F2.8 or F4.
F4 is the sharpest point for that lens. I only go below that when i really want shallow DOF.

I do intend to get a F1.4 so that i could stop down and shoot at about F1.8 when necessary...

for me f/1.8 is very shallow, cannot imagine 1.4 :S most of the time i step down to 2-2.8 else too easy to get OOF. f/1.8 much cheaper too ;p
