thx smile.gif do u think wider should be bigger (for diameter) or smaller (for the number)?
*
bigger/smaller opening (aperture) for light to transmit to sensor
number will be the other way round f/1.4 = big, f/32 = small

hi all, i jt bought my D90 body only 1 months ago and bought a 2nd hand d50 kit lens from my friend.. biggrin.gif
and recently i found that my viewfinder only displaying info on the aperture, shuttle speed , and ISO when i use the "A" mode.
while not showing any battery level status at all.....
does it show normal??

how come no battery level info display where the manual does show that in VF is able to know the battery level on the bottom of it.

Sweetie its a BATTERY WARNING display, not really a traditional battery indicator smile.gif It only comes up when the battery is low... when its on the last bar i think. But even then you still have to turn it on by going into the Shooting Display menu... though its ON by default. The real battery indicator is displayed on the top panel.
Have fun thumbup.gif

owhh i hope i understood you just fine when i read you the first time though biggrin.gif Its about using the term WIDE for f-stop and how it would confuse newcomers with lens spec/type right ?

By the way .... that wide telephoto you asked ... i would say 18mm is wide. So 18-200mm is a wide telephoto lens. Theres 17-50 lens and its called a telephoto lens so i heard.
Im sure different people may perceive differently on how wide is wide. I would say anything wider than 18 (17 below) is ULTRA wide .. Ultra Wide Angle.

Wide telephoto end ? Is there any chance that you meant that as a telephoto lens with big/wide max aperture ? Because if it is so, then theres quite aplenty of em around .. for example 70-200mm f/2.8. Also if thats the case, then the term is "fast telephoto", not "wide telephoto". Its big/wide maximum aperture allows for fast shutter speed thus it is a "fast" lens.
If you meant something else then ignore me .... biggrin.gif
