Location? Single or double storey? Intermediate or corner/end-lot?

I got quoted exterior wall double storey (back side only) around rm700~rm800, inclusive of cleaning, 1 undercoat & 2 top coats, without patching (since it’s new). Paint I supply.
*
Since your paint job is only 1 side of your double storey, then multiply rm800 by 4 walls =rm3200 which may be the prevailing price in the market. (for labour only).

unless your house is intermediate then multiply by 2 only lah.

Wow! didn't know painting can be so expensive!

Hi,

I have visited Mr.Paint Shop yesterday and have been advised on suitable products for my interior wall needs. The service is pleasant and appreciated.

In need of further advise if possible, on the interval time needed between painting steps that I will do for bathroom and kitchen wall. Below are the steps:

1. Skim coat at cracks / holes
2. Nippon Acrylic 5170 Wall Sealer
3. Nippon 3-in-1 Top Coat or Juton Majestic True Beauty

I was also advised to not use the toilet for a week after the painting job as to let the paint dry and set properly before any dampness from toilet usage.

Any thoughts?

2 reason.

1) Bad base paint. The white base paint is not a premier paint and just a normal white cheap paint. If you use your hand to wipe across, your hand stick with the white powdery form.

2) You use too much water on the nippon paint. Thinning too much.

If the problem is no. 1, remove the whole paint till the bare wall. Clean it and paint with premier before apply your desire paint Color.

If problem no. 2, paint again. Don’t thin it too much. Or don’t thin the paint at all.

Hopefully it's problem 2, i saw the workers did add water last time, they said it's needed.
Repaint on top will cover it? will it appear also on the new layer paint?

No.
Use sand paper to sand down the old paint. (Just to remove some paint and rough up a bit for new paint to stick)

Then use oil base paint to paint door.
Any paint will change color over time due to uv and pollution, dirt, smoke.

Boss, you can try this Dulux Diamond White acrylic eggshell.

Or any satin wood paint. Than coat with Minwax Polycrylic.

All is water base which not easy urn yellow.

Don't use any ammonia base cleaner to wipe clean the white surface.

want to ask, i have got a new house.. just completed the renovation work.
The renovation work involve hacking of wall to conceal wiring in brick wall where there is a lot of dusts on the surface of the wall (and everywhere else).

Does the wall need to be somehow clean before painting is applied?
Any sealer required for these wall with already quite good paint?
need to sand off the existing paint?
or just applied the new paint to the existing paint.

Let me know if there is anything else to take note.
Thanks.

1. Use a broom or some cloth to wipe away loose dust.
2. Use scrapper to remove loose paint.
3. Sealer for places with bare wall( places where you hack and can see bare concrete)
4. Paint with desired color paint.

Hi... I want to ask
1. I’m using nippon paint. The problem is the colour swatches in the colour books are too dark as compared to actual colour and some colour totally have different undertones. I know getting colour samples is the best, but I can’t find any shop that provide samples? Where can you get samples? Or you really need to buy 1L everytime? :’(

2. Can you mix different paint formula eg nippon satin glo with nippon q-glo? Will it affect the paint overtime?

3. Where can I buy glazing liquid to make faux finishes? Tried ACE, but they only have the alkyd ones:’(

Thank you in advance:)

I have asked a few shops before and they told me no samples. I also have problem with nippon's color swatches. The color always turns out a few shades lighter than the swatches. When I first bought my house, I use all Nippon, all turned out not the color I want. Even their online interactive apps does not show the actual color. I use Dulux this time (but also has to choose carefully), and love the result!

If you don't mind the trouble, use this website https://encycolorpedia.com/7f8486.
Key in the color code you think is your choice. It will describe your paint - whether it is closer to what color. More red hue percentage will means it will look warm on the wall, more blue will have a cooler feel.
