I assumed that was gloss paint. Normally painter will mixed with turpentine or thinner to dilute d paint for easier to apply. That's the reason it will turn yellowish regardless brand. Is in under explosure or explosure to sunlight?

No internal doors. No mix with anything. It's matt not glossy

Do you throw away left over paint? I don’t. I try to save some for touch ups later in the future. Problem is the old paint cans don’t seal well after a few times opening and closing the lid.
I found some plastic jerry cans with an air tight cap and cover. They come in a few sizes. I bought the 2 liter ones which I think is enough. These cost me RM6.25 each at Ace Hardware

Too big leh. Mostly leftover paint for my case is less than a liter.

Mostly I use ICI paint. ICI now come with plastic can and a small top cover to open. Very handy and open/close hundred time without problem. No rust if store long too.

Every paint brand should change the tin can to plastic can. Don't understand why still pack in tin can.

ya agreed, should come in plastic canisters thumbup.gif

I got to throw away many of the left over paint that I store many yrs. All due to rust of the can.

The last paint I buy is nippon which still using tin can.

So far only ICI I see it using plastic can.

2 reason.

1) Bad base paint. The white base paint is not a premier paint and just a normal white cheap paint. If you use your hand to wipe across, your hand stick with the white powdery form.

2) You use too much water on the nippon paint. Thinning too much.

Sifu, you know any white paint for wooden doors that won’t yellow?
I used Nippon white matt, after a couple years yellowish already. Can i repaint it will water soluble paint ?(for walls type)

No.
Use sand paper to sand down the old paint. (Just to remove some paint and rough up a bit for new paint to stick)

Then use oil base paint to paint door.
Any paint will change color over time due to uv and pollution, dirt, smoke.

Oil based very fast yellow wan
I read somewhere says there are now water based for wood now. Satinwood?

Boss, you can try this Dulux Diamond White acrylic eggshell.

Or any satin wood paint. Than coat with Minwax Polycrylic.

All is water base which not easy urn yellow.

Don't use any ammonia base cleaner to wipe clean the white surface.

ok thanks....will look into it.
i wonder if need to sand off my existing oil based paint or not?
