No problem man! What are the people in this forum for? And I love oscars too... I have 2 in my tank- one albino one is my bro's which is now just 7.5cm and my tiger oscar in my pic <<- which is already 12cm and have no problems with my 18cm aro(except during feeding time tongue.gif)

And maybe I'll hold the 6footer idea until after PMR I think... So I can save money and also concentrate on studies. Judging by my arowana's growth rate and other people's silver aro growth rate, my aro should be around 1.5feet next Oct/Nov

Added on December 8, 2009, 1:40 pmHey guys, I am very happy about getting a 6footer soon... But last night when watching TV I suddenly think bad about it... 6 footer costs A LOT. Then I was thinking that 6footer is for my arowana's own good, but should I invest in it? Or should I...stop rearing arowana? I don't know what to do... I oso not much savings... Should I save or spend?

Really need help...

Just buy it. If it makes u happy why not?

Persuade your father to buy it for u. Keep asking from him but of course u have to ensure that he is in good mood before asking. Eventually he'll buy for u. Trust me!

U're very clever. rclxms.gif

This is called diplomatic strategy. It should work out for every father most of the time. brows.gif

Yeah... Few LFS mentioned that smile.gif

And I'm afraid that my father is not the kind that can be persuade... Last time when I mentioned the word upgrade to bigger tank he straight just say: No lah, you got so big tank oredy, still want meh?" My parents don't support my fishkeeping one... I think paying for it is the best way.. Last time I persuade him many times about getting me a laptop, he keep refusing until I said I will pay. Then he oni agree... Economy is tough now.. And I dunno where to start if I persuade him. Plus I break down easily...

Thanks

2 person shld enough to carry a 3' empty tank. 3' x 1.5' iron stand can easy get from lfs...anyway 3' tank wont last long for ur silver aro.upgrading aro is easy but upgrading ur tank size is hel a lot of work.imo, temporary locate ur tank on floor (safe corners) and go seach up n down for a bigger tank set rather spending more to remedy ur current tank ofcos $$$ is another issue.jus newbie opinion.together we learn.cheers

Can't agree more. Upgrade to a bigger tank, ben! Don't waste your rm100 buying a stand.

The keywords are persistent and perseverance. Don't easily give up. Every man has a soft spot and most of the time; his wife and children.

When he is in good mood just say to him;

1) Dad, I love to have a 6' tank.
2) Dad, is it ok if u buy me a 6' tank?
3) Dad, my friend's aquarium is nice. Can I have it, please?
4) Dad, if I really study hard this year and get to be top 3 student, can I have a 6' aquarium, please?

Use those words over and over again every 3 or 4 day when he is in good mood. U'll get it! But don't cry, just talk to him nicely and in a sweet manner.

what type of fish u wanna to take..
1st of all, if you want to put inside the tank, test it or run the aquarium around 2-3 days and put the tester fish, if the fish survive then it ok to let the arowana go in. if not, dont buy the fish 1st.. setting the water 1st.. i never buy the Ph tester and so my silver still big bigger and more bigger then before, almost 1 year i keep her and it so peace to see the fish swimming around.

Hey Devill I'm in MBSSKL... Different school... My tank run for at least 2 weeks before I got my arowana. Although I use old filter, old gravel, old water I still cycle it for 2 weeks.

Yeah goldfish survive than it will be fine. That means no sudden temperature change because this easily kills goldfish. And are you sure the goldfish are "disease free"? They may pass disease to your precious dragon fish...
