I'm filling a complain to the cfm on this issue. It's rather misleading to advertise minimum guaranteed speed of 400kbps for home plus package and then change to unspecified aka 128kbps throttle speed without mentioning it in the advertisement or promotion. Consumer who does not have the latest info may fall into this marketing scam by assuming that the throttled speed isn't that low. I would strongly suggest p1 to include the new FUP info in their current and future advertisement, flyer and promotion to avoid misleading the consumer. I don't see why anyone in their right mind will signed up for p1 if they know the current implementation of 128kbps throttled speed. P1 really don't know their customer needs and requirement imo.

The new throttle speed is to actually to protect our loyal customer who has been with us as the 90% of P1 subscriber do not finish their FUP within the stipulated period.
We had to resort to throttle speed as P1 dont block P2P or other file sharing applications.

However, a very small number of customers would use their broadband service excessively; resulting in decrease in speed, quality and reliability of the service offered to the rest of our customers.
It is estimated from the usage pattern from P1 and other broadband providers' data, that approximately 1% to 3% of broadband customers can use up to 30%-90% of the available broadband capacity. Excessive users frequently download and upload large number of videos, very large files and use "peer to peer" (P2P) and file sharing software throughout the day.
P1's Fair Usage Policy manages the broadband network from excessive users in order to maintain a fair, high quality and reliable level of service for the rest of our customers.

If 30GigaBytes = 240Gigabits = 30720MegaBytes. Why in our account only show 30000MB(MegaBytes)?
Where is another 720MegaBytes???

See for yourself the speed, low low speed, that is! Average about 300kbps.
FYI, I am not living in the jungle. The signal strength is 90%
If there is no improvement in a week, I am going to downgrade to Home Plus as the contract is till October.
This way I save RM40 per month for the lousy service.
