I'm planning to get a 32 inch lcd tv for my room
Picture quality and durability (less problems and issues) is my target Here's the list of the candidates (Quite alot too, makes me headache) - Sony Bravia V300 series 32 inch - Sony Bravia D series 32 inch (for its 10-bit panel) - Samsung R8 series 32 inch (Price is tempting, but dunno long lasting or not) - Panasonic TX-32LXD700 (for its ips alpha panel) - Hitachi L32A01A (for its ips panel) |

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Jan 24 2008, 11:49 PM) 1) Component splits its video signals through 3 cables instead of Composite's one. More over, the point in getting Component is to enable progressive scan and it is also the bare minimum to get 720p(HD) as well. Theres really a no brainer here, getting component is the way to go. Those RM100+ or even RM300 component cables are nothing but pure rip-offs. Just go to Jalan Pasar and pick up a no-name component cable for RM20. No difference what so ever. Hi Ben,2) As said, avoid buying expensive component cables(hell, avoid buying expensive video cables). A generic no-name RM20 component cable does just as well as an overpriced rip-off RM200 cable. I wouldn't pay more than RM50 for a component cable though. Thanks for the heads-up! Is it really true no difference btw expensive and chaplak ones??!!! Good feedback Added on January 25, 2008, 2:35 pm QUOTE(rx330 @ Jan 25 2008, 10:22 AM) one thing i learned, i used my composite cables as component, just any normal RCA will do, just make sure the kaler btwn the connecting ends matches, irregardless all ur cables in single kaler Really can use as an alternative?!! If can then problem solved coz I have lots of composite cables lying around Anyone else can testify to this? Anyway, thanks, rx330 This post has been edited by Lone*Wolf: Jan 25 2008, 02:35 PM |

QUOTE(Lone*Wolf @ Jan 25 2008, 04:24 PM) dun lar sound like ah long taiko onli ... To add a bit more tip to this, please get better RCA cables lah. i am real noob to this so of coz need to be certain lah.... if i really think you are liar, then i oso wouldn't thank you earlier lerr.... Thanks again for your tips Added on January 25, 2008, 4:25 pm OK! Thanks! Like they always say, which is true, a wire is a wire. However, adding extenders to lengthen your cables is generally not advisable. Cable for each signal from player to projector cukup. Reason is if you notice that your video picture looks fuzzy or has uneven colour (projector is fine in this case), it's very likely cause by the end to end connectors. The other reason is bad cable. If possible, ask the guys at Jln Pasar to custom-make to the length required. This post has been edited by toyol: Jan 26 2008, 12:31 PM |

QUOTE(toyol @ Jan 27 2008, 03:14 PM) have u tried pulling out the other video cables, ie your composite or s-video? also, have u checked if you switched to the right source to output video on yur projector? It is a LCD TV. But yes, it is the right output I have two video inputs to the LCD TV:- 1) XBOX via the supplied component cables - no problems here. 2) DVD Player - via the usual AV composite input - no problem. But when I tried using the Component input using the COMPOSITE cables like some suggested here, no picture. The Audio works fine though ... Thanks for sharing, toyol (i really hope thats just yr nickname |
