its the same actually whether ure doing it with jb or without.. instead of sshing into the phone and get to the respective folder, u just have to open the ipa file in your itunes folder via winrar.. then copy and paste the required files , and restart ur itunes ( duno if its necessary) and sync it into ur phone.. thats about it i think

I have read about past post in MFM forum about using winrar to access the ipa file and replace the original maps with the lastest one from MFM. However the modified ipa cannot be used on iphone that is not jb. Installation via itune will report error ( ... resources have been modified etc, cannot install ...)
However, still there are ppl claim can upgrade maps without jb. However, someone can provide details. Thanks.

my experince using PPG PRO .

no matter how , the map will show u r in jln p ramlee whenever u open the apps . than try this .

go to map view .
wait for a sound " searching for satelite signal " until " satelite search complete ...
than u click function button under the screen . tap current position . yr position only able to locked now .
than u may start use navi to POI or any road .

p/s activate 3G network will help alot on position locking via satelite .
must use under clear sky . best to mount yr iphone on windshield .

so far , PPG quite good . quite accurate , routing fast .
only disadvantages so far is .. the things dunno shortcut ....only ask u follow main road .....

It should know shortcut. Try setting the routing to the faster way or something. currently its set to ways which are easier for cars to drive on

the map very accurate, however, I have some problem the application will crash when click on the 'near POI' search. however, this fixed when I SSH and install the new updated map from mfm.

the UI is horrible~ lol.. the slide very slow, GPS lock okay, routing okay, map detail BEST!
even update till Kampar UTAR Block E also have the road in the map... lol..

Strange. many others doesn't have problem right from installation. there must be some difference in terms of fw version, jb/non jb etc that cause this

Find the download section. Look for latest Papago for android/iphone version. install and you are good to go.

Guess later many will flock to Mfm for free map..hopefully you guys do some favour by contributing pois etc to mfm to grow it further. the more you give, the more you will get..in terms of detailed map of course

Map update can be done via BOTH JB and non JB. the winrar/winzip method is for non JB

And for those have problem like error during installation,

please,

1. Install first WITHOUT any modification (means original Papago maps)
2. Later you update the map using winrar.

As a precaution, do backup the original Papago maps so if anything goes horribly wrong, you can restore to original.

Managed to update to the latest map 100203 version... Took sometime for it to lock the gps

update using ssh method...

which one bro...ppg, tomtom,sygic

Confirm only jb ver can update maps thru winrar n using ssh..only jb can Use modified IPA Files using winrar.

Sorry.. I bought the app. And update the maps to ver 100203.. However, i have a problem here.. how to use the app? I click on Road search.. But, i can't key in the complete address here.. And when i click on search.. nothing happend.. Pls advice.. TQ

follow the steps that i have posted. you need to edit 3 files because when you install the ver 100203 maps, it's actually for android.

so you need to rename 3 file names. i've posted the detailed steps already.

Doing the rename of

rename MapAniPOI.psu -> MapAniPOI.psz
rename Papago.dbp -> papago.dbp
rename standard.mb6 -> Standard.mb6

I am not using the Taiwan ver.. Not sure is it the same..

Then, i am stuck.. No more space for entering the address. Like that how to Navigate? If i continue with Search. The from the top it return result Matched 199, Jalan PP19/19, Taman.. And the click is light blue in color.. Tat is all.. I can only click BACK button..

Here is the problem i got.. First, it able to LOCK the satellite location.. But, i am not able to do NAVIGATION.. When i click on SEACH location.. I try to type in address. And i notice that i am not able to type in a FULL address.. Then, i just type in Jalan Miami Green & click search.. This is what i am getting..Then, how to do navigation? pls advice..Tq

yes, i also cannot type the full address. so i just search by road name. cannot put like the house number or lot number.

once you're in that screen, just click on that road and then on the next screen, click on a Go! button and it will automatically start the routing.

Added on February 10, 2010, 12:34 amdoesn't matter if yours is taiwan, my/sg, bangla, or china version. you still need to rename the file because .psu if im not mistaken it is for Android, hence you need to change it to .psz which is ppg format. as for the papago.dbp and standard.mb6, it's just about the caps and no caps because Unix base OS is case sensitive.

Great ! Thanks & it works now.. Ok, my problem solved by reinstalled the app & re-update the map. Now our Iphone is a TRUE GPS navigation device with the malfreemaps... TomTom/ Sygic and others.. we can forget about it.. To me the most important thing is the map...Somemore got Junction view !!! Thanks Papago & malfreemaps.. Yahoo
