yes, Waze is good enough for all general use! none of the commercial apps are perfect either.

I jumped happily after knowing that Garmin has dedicated GPS app for Malaysia, Garmin used to be my best GPS application. But I'm pissed, in fact, most are, that Garmin is based on Malsingmap, not Malfreemap sad.gif

Why don't you just replace MSM with MFM?
There's a guide on MFM forums to do just that.

Papago M6 Lite users can now update to M8 Lite for free.

Anyone checked what's the map version in it?

Yeah, totally love the Papago M10. Looks good with this simple interface. The old M8 doesn't look good. Love it!

waze doesn't need data if u preloaded the map , it can do the routing when data is off, just did not have traffic reports

I guess already preloaded with the apps installation. Tried using airplane mode on just now & can do the routing.

I installed both apps on my iPhone 5 (IOS6) and my wife's iPhone 4S (IOS5).

Garmin map is way too outdated, and is using MSM map. However, you can change the map to latest MFM map using iFunbox but without Junction View.
You can only change the map on IOS5. If you are on IOS6, you can't change the file using iFunbox, so I can't change the map on my iPhone 5. Also, the apps is not optimized for iPhone 5, you will see black bar on top and bottom screen.

For Papago, the latest M10 version has the updated MFM map version Nov 2012 with full Junction View. It's faster than the previous M8. Also, it's optimized for iPhone 5.

Overall, I would recommend papago if you are using iPhone 5 and IOS6.
Garmin is good if the map is updated. I actually prefer Garmin in term of user interface.

Just my two cents.

i just read the review in the app store and 90% user all complain about lost GPS signal.
i would think twice about purchasing it now.. not gonna pay RM80 for the app to drive halfway and suddenly lost satellite signal..

To be honest, I've never encounter any lost GPS signal through halfway. I can even get the signal indoor.

hmm using tomtom here and quite satisfied. only problem is when you are on navigation you can't really drag and see the roads in front. other than that quite ok. details on junction, flyovers, etc all ada. never got signal lost.
