In some way, you can still use Waze while off-ing the data. Just download the data before you drive. After you have downloaded, you can off the data, and drive normally. You don't get the "live" update, but I can still live with data a few minutes old lar ....

That is what i'm trying to understand..so basically,GPS in phones depends on cellular tower(normal phone signal,not 3G) to detect the current location of phones,correct??

in using the cellular coverage the connection will be very much better... can say the connection is faster.. but you dont need data...

I'm sorry but my question is still unanswered..to make this simple,i give an illustration;

GPS devices

- if dont have SD card,it still can detect signal of current location as long as open air..in my understanding,the GPS itself has a built in gps tracker that connects to the satelite everytime the GPS is turn on..GPS dont have airplane mode.

Phones' GPS

- if i switch off the phone,do the GPS software in phone still be able to detect the current location of the phone??..that is all i want to know..i dont even want to know about their speed for now..thanks

Suddenly that app becomes chart topper!

But do take note, the infos in the app can be somewhat incomplete.

Speed trap is nothing. Traffic light AES is the PITA. Imagine you can't make decision whether to stop or go for it when the light just turned yellow shakehead.gif
