i am not saying we should buy Nani but i think your statement is too harsh towards him..perhaps he is just trying to be a good or succesful player for his club..nothing wrong with that...
we need quality and whether the likes of El Zhar or even Kuyt bring you league titles is still questionable to me...no offence...
Agreed, El Zhar is not young any more, he's gonna be 24 next year and if he doesn't challenge for the first team he's pretty much as good as gone. Funny thing is that after El Zhar, there is no more young wingers lining up (I stand corrected though!) while on the other hand we've got too many in the striker's department - Ngog, Nemeth and now Eccleston.
And Kuyt, whenever he's in poor form he drags everybody down - poor first touch, lack of pace and lack of quality in general. I still like him for what he contributes elsewhere on the pitch but he's gonna be 30 next year. If we could get a good price for him, I'm up for it.

Liverpool want an amazing £14million for Lucas

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez wants an amazing £14 million for Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva - and plans to keep him despite needing to sell players.
The Kop chief has been approached by a couple of top European sides who hoped to exploit the Anfield cash problems by landing Lucas in a bargain deal.
However, hard-line Benitez wants the stunning sum for the 22-year-old who splits opinions among Liverpool fans but is always solidly backed by his manager.
Benitez knows he must move out players in January to bring in cash to strengthen his squad - but his sky-high valuation suggests Lucas is not one of those he will sacrifice.
Lucas has been a regular in the Liverpool side this season and even the arrival of Alberto Aquilani will not mean he is surplus to requirements.
The Brazilian will be watched by some of his admirers against England, but Benitez is steadfastly holding on to him.
for 14m? thats not really holding on to him, unlike the previous 30m tag on alonso. so uhh, bye lucas damn, 14m is sky high? which means rafa only rates lucas at 7m? around the same price he was bought?
Even so, it's 3m higher than Alonso's price when he came here.
Just forget about Carlton Cole. Pavlyuchenko is the one Liverpool should consider. Just look at how he scored in the FA vs MU, probably the toughest goal. FYI, MU was at their prime esp. defense that time, not many is able to crack that up...
lucas should be at least around 20m, he has talent n he has bright future...
Pavlyuchenko on the other hand is a failure, he failed for totenham, why do we need somebody that already 3rd or 4th choice striker for totenham, he cant even out do robbie keane at totenham, the one that failed 2 impress rafa n been sold back..
