Another disappointing result. Could have posted here during the match but for some reasons my streamyx fail-ed on me.
A little inexperience from Ngog. He could have won it for us. He should have dragged his leg towards Carsley's legs atleast he could have caught him a little.
Referee did the right thing at that time since his view is the same as what we're watching at the time and i would have thought it was a penalty too.
Aquilani didnt do much except for 1 or 2 long passes and some burst 1-2 passes that didnt materialise well. But it was above decent for 10 minutes.  nod.gif
I take nothing our of the 2nd goal from Birmingham. Reina needs to grow a few inches taller to save the shot. One of his weakness like we saw in the Lyon game.
*
if i'm not mistaken, almost all Spain goalkeepers are short. just look at iker Casillas, Victor Valdes and Canizares. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(w3er @ Nov 10 2009, 02:23 PM)
we are not scared of ur existence, LOLLL
in fact it was the other way around

it was u guys who is always ranting about the FAs, the ref, god, the timekeeper, the weather, milkmen, reporter etc that is always on our side.

Today, it proved that liverpool player is blatant cheater and that's the fact!!
it shows us clearly that liverpool are as filthy and dirty as other EPL team

so next time when MU win a match, u guys stop b1tching about us and we will stop complaining about yours
*
i have to disagree with u on this bro. it is very subjective. Drogba used to dive a lot too during his early chelsea days. same goes as Ronaldo. every player in EPL capable of doing so. Some players didn't even thinking of diving but jump and land on their frontside in order to avoid injury of being tackle or mislanding which can hurt their legs.

QUOTE(solstice818 @ Nov 10 2009, 04:16 PM)
We are too important to them. You just have to admit our importance in their life.

We are so important to the extent that they sacrificed their sleep just to hope that they can watch us lose, watch us draw.

I can understand rivals fans watching our games during weekend but to wake up 4am on working days to watch Liverpool playing when they are supporting manu, that's just too awesome.

And til now, I haven't see any Arsenal and Chelsea fans doing just yet but there are a bunch of manu fans doing it.Damn.We are so important. VVIP  tongue.gif
*
depends bro. some people love football but they didn't support any team. they just love play football and watching football. but to those who watch other team play just to taunt their fans is somewhat sick.

QUOTE(solstice818 @ Nov 10 2009, 05:30 PM)
I don't know if anyone notice about this but it's the same old question I had been asking for long.

Is Gerrard the guy for captaincy?

Again, when everyone trying to pick on N'Gog and when there was argument, he was nowhere to be seen.It takes Lucas to help his teammate out.

Where is Gerrard again?Reminds me of the sent off of Mascherano on Old Trafford.Alonso dragged Masch away with Gerrard MIA over the course. Is he really the right guy for captaincy? Given the situation N'Gog in and if Carra is on field, he would have help out N'Gog and do something what a captain should be doing.

Again, is Gerrard the right man?
*
Gerrard was hailed as captain due to his sheer determination, commanding presence and influence. his effortless style of play give morale boost to teammate. but lately he has been behind the curtain probably due to injury or personal problem. Carra is the best replacement so far after Gerrard.

Captaincy is about driving the team forward.

His gesture in May 2005 says it all.

Exactly, the play & dependability on a captain when all go wrong is what matters, not stand up like a thugs. So yes he inspire the team with his play & dependability, so he's a worthy captain.

QUOTE(blinky @ Nov 10 2009, 05:50 PM)
That was only one prime example.

Not forgetting Olympiakos, West Ham 2006 and many more.
*
I have no question about him inspiring the team to play, to win matches but that's The very same reason why we failed to perform when he is not around. We depend on him way too much.

And as a captain, he should know where he should stand. The incident where he talked about Keane leaving in January back in last year November(or was it december?) was something inappropriate.

I'm not asking for him to be stripped off captaincy but I think he should do better because he is capable of.

That is rather the problem of the team or the gaffer.

Though the Keane incident is really unbecoming of him shakehead.gif

You can't blame Gerrard for the team underperforming when he's not around, can you?

who else do you think can take the arm band?

carra - he obviously the clear choice. but now is not the time where the backline is in shambles. unneeded burden.. he need to focus on commanding the backline atm.

kuyt - good guy.. but doesn't strike me as a top leader on the pitch.. vice captain is more likely

masch - too short tempered. probably will cost the team if red carded.

pepe - more suitable for the captaincy than carra. though imho, goalie not very suitable as captain.

He did defend Ngog in some way.

'I have spoken to David about it and he felt the same way.

To be honest, ngog had to take a leap there. Carsley's left leg was going to hit his trailing foot. But yea, the fall was alittle exagerrated. As a Liverpool fan, i concede that it wasn't a fair penalty. Nevertheless, it was a game we were supposed to win. We did everything BUT score.

Let the boss be, he's got his style.

Later people sue us for "copying", ROFLMAO (like how some fans from a rival club go berzerk thinking we stole their anthem for "Fernando Torres Liverpool's Number 9" song.

About Gerrard, yes, I have to agree with Sols. How often do we see Gerrard arguing with the referee to get his teammates out of trouble? Look at Giggs, and Terry for instance. Great captains, and they try their best to help their mates to wriggle out of any potential trouble. No need to talk about Ferdinand.. he's a different case altogether. He rapes the referee's mind, and forces decisions.

But in a way, Gerrard's acts are good. He doesn't pile pressure on the referee, doesn't do shit on the field or yell lots of foul language to the officials like "some" captains do on a regular basis. I think this is a mark of a great captain. That's why he has the respect from nearly every club fan, and "some" captains don't.

Yes, I agree with Sols, he shouldd stick up for his mates more, but even if he doesn't, I still feel Gerrard is the best man for the team. Even the players feel so as well as far as I'm concerned. For instance, Kuyt was the captain till Gerrard came on, and Kuyt rushed to Gerrard and handed him the band the right BEFORE he stepped into the pitch. That shows how much respect they have for him. Overall, I'd like a captain who is silent, does his job well, and gets respect.

I am saying so because I am the captain of my district football team biggrin.gif tongue.gif

haha

Rafa's super cool. He sets his own style, and doesn't follow asses like Fergie. He should f***ing be banned from watching any BPL matches, even on TV/computer for a year or so. f***ing thing moans about everything, but if they win, he'd praise the referee even if the referee made millions of errors.

Gerrard is regarded as one of the best in the world. and no doubt that he's the best in the team. At least that's what his team-mates believe, which is the most important thing to be a leader.
In my opinion (which is based on observation rather than facts or stats), we're not a team that depending on Gerrard, but the gap between him(n Torres) and the rest of the team is massive. He can do thing that others can't. Even so, over the years, his work ethic is superb.. even better than Kuyt.
Some might disagree, but for me I prefer the best player as the captain, someone who leads by example rather than someone who talk a lot.. questioning and complaining on every call, asking ref to sent off the opponents).

P/S: Hyppia is the super cool caiptain..

yup. ngog tried to protect himself there i guess but u'll never know whether he really have the ntention of diving or not. lol. match against club like Birminghm are always tough as club like them like to defend in numbers. Even Arsene and Fergie complained about this in previous seasons.

if Rafa said, "yes, Ngog dived there. he should be banned from the game", sure he will be kicked out as Liverpool boss for not protecting his players.

i'm so frustrated to miss the game, i'm more frustrated to see the final score.. and it became worst after watching N'goal flying act. I never saw anyone dives that high before... 10 marks!!
this is not 1pt earned but it's 2pts dropped... plus we may loose  yossy and Riera for hamstring injury..

off topic...
seems like 'The Draw King' has returned to reclaim his throne.. is this a sign that we're gonna play UEFA cup in two successive seasons???
