I don't know if anyone notice about this but it's the same old question I had been asking for long.

Is Gerrard the guy for captaincy?

Again, when everyone trying to pick on N'Gog and when there was argument, he was nowhere to be seen.It takes Lucas to help his teammate out.

Where is Gerrard again?Reminds me of the sent off of Mascherano on Old Trafford.Alonso dragged Masch away with Gerrard MIA over the course. Is he really the right guy for captaincy? Given the situation N'Gog in and if Carra is on field, he would have help out N'Gog and do something what a captain should be doing.

Again, is Gerrard the right man?

Captaincy is about driving the team forward.

His gesture in May 2005 says it all.

Exactly, the play & dependability on a captain when all go wrong is what matters, not stand up like a thugs. So yes he inspire the team with his play & dependability, so he's a worthy captain.

That was only one prime example.

Not forgetting Olympiakos, West Ham 2006 and many more.

I have no question  about him inspiring the team to play, to win matches but that's The very same reason why we failed to perform when he is not around. We depend on him way too much.

And as a captain, he should know where he should stand. The incident where he talked about Keane leaving in January back in last year November(or was it december?) was something inappropriate.

I'm not asking for him to be stripped off captaincy but I think he should do better because he is capable of.

You can't blame Gerrard for the team underperforming when he's not around, can you?

Hi guys, I just came back from watching the game. I was the LONE Liverpool supporter (or maybe not, since there were 2 apeks in the same sports pub that wanted Liverpool to win through betting LOL), here's what I think of the players:

Pepe Reina - 9/10
Possibly the man of the match, fine saves, despite actually "conceding" two 'goals'. Sets up for the second goal in his trademark long range delivery.

Daniel Agger 6/10
A decent performance, but clearly he needs to determine between zonal and man marking. Nearly did us in.

Jamie Caragher 4/10
He may have been in HIS position, but a whole big chunk of REAL defending was done by Glenny and Insua, with him just standing still in the position.

Emillio Insua 8/10
Let's admit it. Pienaar made a hell out of him, Aurelio and Lucas, but Insua made up by setting up the goals and created chances.

[/b] Glen Johnson 7/10 [/b]
He brought something that LIVERPOOL needed in this game, that is to bring the ball forward and try not to lose it. He set up a few chances, solid closing down (he chases the players even though it is a hopeless situation, and saved Reina's arse a few times when Jo and Bilyaletdinov breathed down the necks of Reina, Carragher and Agger. He's definitely improved and I'm seeing more of him in the "axle" that starts an attack.

Lucas 6/10
Lucas created some chances, but that's where he ends.

Javier Mascherano 6.5/10
Okay, so it was a "lucky" goal. But he nearly nailed himself with all the challenges he did with Cahill. We see him tackling at where it was VITAL, but he certainly can't control the game in stemming the tide of EVERTON, in MIDFIELD where he's needed.

[/b]Fabio Aurelio 4/10 [/b]
He was invisible to me.

Dirk Kuyt 6.5/10
Finally he broke his duck. Kuyt managed to poach this one in, but his lack of control and inability to create chances (when the ball is under his possession) leaves something to be desired about. Still, he's our EVEREADY BUNNY. XD

David Ngog 6.5/10
He could poach, and he's shown that he can CUT in ala Luis Garcia. However, his lack of ball control may need to be looked into. I'm thinking he's MORE of a POACHER, waiting the crosses and long balls and make run-ins to poach the balls, still he's a better / safer bet compared to Babel.

Steven Gerrard 4.5/10
The only thing that he did was to set up the 2nd goal. Other than that he seemed to be invisible.

Alberto Riera 6.5/10
I think he contributes to the match in a fair bit, but his cracks at the goal won't help unless it GOES in, or at least create chances for others to 'seal the deal'.

Yossi Benayoun 7/10
When Benny came on, he brought a change that panicked the Everton defenses. Every time he's got the ball, he tries to bring it in, and break through the wall. By doing that alone, he created INVALUABLE chances. Of course, solid defending from the EVERTON side, or else we would see him setting up the 3rd,4th, or maybe the 5th goal.
That's about it, I think. I'll leave my other thoughts aside first.

Feel free to comment. tongue.gif

Jamie Carragher was the Man of the Match.

The biggest piece of crap they call a pundit has to be Paul Masefield. He's arrogant, he's self-centred plus he looks downright like a egoistical d***.

He speaks as if he knows the world about the game but just take a look at his "glittering" career. I believe he never made than 10 bloody starts for any club he has played for. And we're talking about illustrious clubs like Bromsgrove Rovers, Jurong FC, Stockport County and PNE.

What a tosser.

Guys, watch this, I laughed my ass off. Make sure you turn your speakers loud.

That's the difference between Manc supporters and us. You can clearly hear You'll Never Walk Alone drowning that twat's singing, and after awhile, even the Manc fans shut up.
