QUOTE(okboy @ Jan 8 2010, 06:42 PM) so is it pointless for the LCD without speaker if using HDMI port? read again properly... i did say ur NOT limited to the LCD's speakers. u can connect to other external amp/ speakers via the monitor's lineout. there is also another positive side to using HDMI. the connectors are smaller and they are easier to handle as compared to DVI where its big and u have to screw them in for a secure connection. somemore if u buy the wrong type of DVI cable, ull probably end up with a cable that doesnt fit ur monitor just like if THIS GUY. HDMI connectors are all the same.

QUOTE(lex @ Jan 8 2010, 02:05 AM) You may want to consider 23" monitors. Currently the best bang-per-buck is Acer X233H 23" widescreen LCD monitor (RM555). so my old pc can run 23" LCD ???

May be i need a better DAC then can produce pretty good audio... DVI cable also got so many type to support different resolution.. This post has been edited by okboy: Jan 8 2010, 10:58 PM

QUOTE(LokiD.d.G @ Jan 8 2010, 04:31 AM) For your picture editing ventures, I'd recommend getting an IPS based monitor with a much better color reproduction, such as the Dell S2209WA at RM760. It's a 22" LCD with a native resolution of 1680x1050 Otherwise I'd recommend either the Dell ST2410 at RM699 or the Viewsonic VX2433W, both of which are good quality 24" monitors. thanks man for the recommendation, ill look it up. 1st, adjust ur monitor tilt straight, the press as hard as u can at the lock at the back. then u may begin changing ur height. DO NOTE : u can only lock height at the highest and lowest points.

After using dell's U2410 for a week. All I can say is...for a simple consumer using it for games, movies, etc, it is fit for all intent and purposes.
:-)
Very satisfied and happy with it.

QUOTE(cucubud @ Jan 8 2010, 06:54 PM) You can go with Dell ST2210 (RM589) or Dell ST2310 (RM619). Sorry for mentioning only Dell as this is the only website I know they display the price. http://www1.ap.dell.com/my/en/home/monitor...s=mydhs1&~ck=mnThanks! I'll look into it. I just realise that 24" will be too big for me cos I wouldn't have the desk space, but we'll see about that.. might get a smaller-sized screen instead.

hehe, dude, nice. But personally if you're using calibrated monitor like U2410 for stuff other than photoshop or colour critical works, it'll be a bit wasteful. You're better off with a LED backed monitor. More thin and stylish.
BTW need to ask a question. I have a 24'' HP monitor at home and planning to get a second monitor, a cheaper one, most llikely a 24'' Dell G2410. The HP is 1920 x 1200 and the Dell is 1920 x 1080. So if I do a dual monitor setup can i mix both. Will the difference resolution have any effects. Anyone?

hey guys, I was wondering, I have a HP w2207 which I bought a year ago, it was pretty expensive at the time but I didn't know what was the benefit over the cheaper models, just read good reviews about it. So for example if comparing with two LCD monitors, both 22". One costs RM600, another costs RM1.4k, the difference is just the colour and clarity? Thanks. This has been bothering me for some time @_@

Hmm, any recommendations for LCD monitors that are around 21.5" in size (smaller is okay too), has DVI, HDMI and VGA input, and one which you can adjust the height? Since I'm using a laptop, if I can't adjust the height of the monitor, having one screen low and one screen high would be a bit weird when I use it for dual monitor purposes.. It should also have built-in speakers cos I don't have an external speaker set. :/
