I never try a x10 mini so I don't really know what's the difference, the reason I choose x10 is because of the screen size at a very reasonable price.
if you want to compare the UI smoothness between iPhone and x10, I would say iPhone wins hands down, since this is my first smartphone and never tried any other smartphone besides iPhone, I really like the phone a lot although it's running on Android 1.6. This phone is highly customizable. It's no big deal for me if SE will update the firmware to 2.1 later this year as this phone right now serve me what I want on a smartphone. Cheers... biggrin.gif

Dear X10 users... I have been considering to get a X10 and having a few questions.

Does x10 has a keypad mode like this when typing message?
user posted image

Was told that the loudspeaker for ringtone is a little soft. Is that so?

What about the earpiece speaker? OK?

They are saying SE X10 is not gonna upgrade to android2.2 froyo in future. Is that an official statement? With Froyo, FB games can be played?

X10 dont have T9 numeric keyboard, X10 use full qwerty keyboard... But i think X10 mini have numeric keyboard...

Loudspeaker volume... for me ok and loud... as for the speaker... when u put the phone inside ur pant... sometime u will not hear the ringtone... even if set to max volume...

Earpiece speaker... some people report it's low... and some say it's ok... but for me it's ok and loud...

There is no conformation for froyo yet... sony not say anything... they just say unconfirmed... Need to wait for next year and see how... But currently SE already port some of froyo function to 2.1 like 720p HD recording...

As for FB games... sadly... need to wait for froyo...

Thanks Atsutane! Aikss... it does not have T9! what a waste... To me , it is an important feature. As I can't do well with the touchscreen Qwerty.

you can always use a 3rd party keyboard application, for instance I'm using Ultra Keyboard which has xT9 feature.

a thrid party keyboard will function for every text input field? What if I want to type when I am surfing, typing in some other applications?

Is that easily obtainable and install? Do I need to do the root or unlock something?

LOL. Of course it has T9, and a much better T9 interface than what you're used to doh.gif

Yes there won't be any Flash support for 2.1 BUT it is still possible to stream videos and play online games if HTML5 is implemented in the SE Eclair internet browser which they are developing for 2.1. HTML5 means we don't have to install 3rd party apps like Adobe Flash to stream or for gaming because these function will be native to the browser wink.gif This is one of the features from 2.2 backported to 2.1 by SE, not in the form of flash support but HTML5 support. This is, of course if SE delivers what they promise doh.gif

yeah, once you install a 3rd party keyboard, enable it and make it as your default keyboard, what ever applications that require you to type the 3rd party keyboard will pop up instead the standard one that comes with the phone. yeah you can get a lot of 3rd party keyboard on android "Market" and you don't need to root you phone. I'm using an unroot X10 and I get all the eye candies for it. ADW Launcher + Beautiful Widgets = really cool pretty (even my wife now want to get rid her 4 months old N900 to get a X10)...

Just put the NaviSEA folder (which contains the map folder) in the root directory, should be able to detect the map wink.gif

Guys, i need some info here. . I juz bought a white x10.
I'm wondering whether there is video calling function in this phone.
My phone seems didn't have this function but there is a small hole at the front of the phone?
Other users here can clarify?
