Thanks mate  smile.gif
No Android phone has built in file manager so you need to find one that suits you. What do you mean by 'utilize'? Of course you can utilize your SD card (for saving media, files etc) or there might be something wrong with it, try swapping it with a working one. But if 'utilize' means installing apps on your SD, then you can't yet but it should come with the Eclair 2.1 update within the next few weeks

For gps, mostly are not free. For playing movies, I love rockplayer as it suppport most of the format. For music I'm using mediascape but I heard that Meridian player not bad too.

Just install Wikango a speed trap detector....don't know whether really works or not.

Sure no problem,

1. Get the UniversalAndroot-1.6.2-beta5.apk

2. Install it and run it.

user posted image

Tap on Go Root and wait for a while, it will root your phone.

3. Once your phone is rooted, just go the Market and search for busybox. Install it, as a lot of rooted applications need this busybox.
What Hot Reboot does ?

"Hot reboot by restarting only the Android graphical shell.

At least 2x as fast as a normal phone reboot.

No more task killers, task managers.. just a hot reboot."

Don't worry an AP set can be upgraded to an official 2.1 firmware from SE once they release it. As for 2.2 firmware, SE has not give out any announcement whether they will release this firmware for the X10 family. If you ask me although the X10 is running 1.6 at the moment, I'm totally happy with it. It's like having a PDA, gps, a simple game console and a phone with all the eye candy and the customization to my needs. Having a 4" screen with this kind of price, it's really a steal.

Unfortunately X10 does not support a video call because it doesn't has a second camera, the 3 little round thingy in front is not a camera. If video call is a must then X10 is not for you. IIRC Samsung Galaxy S has the second camera but the price is above 2k, that's why I bought the X10.

These are some screenshoots of my desktop X10...

@bjmin, I'm still on 1.6, yes I can run papago x5 but the app is not stable. I like Sygic Mobilr 10, but the map is not complete like papago.

Dungeon Hunter has an apk that is specifically for x10.

can the rockplayer play rmvb format ?
Understand that the internal memory is 1GB, but when it freshly come, only left 400+ mb only...
Is it because that the android system and the pre-installed application will take up to 500+mb ?
The mediascape is not really user friendly...doesnt have equalizer thought...the sounds doesnt feel very good..

Added on October 17, 2010, 1:55 pmhmmm...and where do you guys usually download the application ?
Is it only at the Market or any external website ?
