Hello hello...
Im totally a layman in phone.
Dont know what is android..
Can anyone tell me whats the different between 1.6 & 2.1 ?
Im planning to get one X10 for my gf next week..
After browsing thru the site, noted that ver 2.1 will be launch end of this month.
So is it better that i wait until end of the month only buy or i can buy it now and update the software later when its officially launch ?

And one more thing, if the phone is connected via usb cable to a virus infected PC, will it have any impact to the phone ?

Thanks smile.gif

with firmware 1.6, you can't do that, only with firmware 2.2 you can install an application into mSD card, which the applications must have this feature.
*
Even if cant install application into SD card also, but how come i cant even utilize the SD card ?
There is not even a file manager in this phone...zzz
I downloaded Astro File Manager, and its not that user friendly thought...

For gps, mostly are not free. For playing movies, I love rockplayer as it suppport most of the format. For music I'm using mediascape but I heard that Meridian player not bad too.

Just install Wikango a speed trap detector....don't know whether really works or not.
*
can the rockplayer play rmvb format ?
Understand that the internal memory is 1GB, but when it freshly come, only left 400+ mb only...
Is it because that the android system and the pre-installed application will take up to 500+mb ?
The mediascape is not really user friendly...doesnt have equalizer thought...the sounds doesnt feel very good..

Added on October 17, 2010, 1:55 pmhmmm...and where do you guys usually download the application ?
Is it only at the Market or any external website ?

if im correct, the microphone is at the left, about one third from the bottom, so if your fingers cover it then the voice might not be loud enough.
thats wat i found out =/

Oh...means u are experiencing the same thing also ?

If you go to SE official forum, there are a lot of complaints regarding the soft volume problem and SE rep said they will solve this with the upcoming update.

As for GPS, I have 3 GPS apps install, i.e Sygic Mobile 10, NDrive and Papago X5. So far Sygic and NDrive is the most stable but lack of updated map. On the other hand Papago X5 has more updated map than the other two but is not stable, it will suddenly hang or freeze. I found out that Papago has updated their apps to X5.1 but I haven't try it yet.

har ? u installed 3 GPS applicatioan ar?
I tot the GPS application is not free wan ?

Sob sob... i still haven update to 2.1 yet...
After reading back all the post notice that most of you guys are updating thru SEUS.
Is the SEUS that you guys mentioning is the one at the phone itself or the PC companion that installed in the PC ?
Can i update to firmware 2.1 without connecting to the PC ? Just depend on the software update on the phone itself ?

By the way, can i do a clean format on the SD Card ?
As for the PC companion that auto installed once we plug in to the PC, is it store at the internal memory or SD card ? If i clean format the SD card, will if loss some of the important pre-store data inside (not to mentioned the data i personally store inside)

And one more question, until now i still couldnt use the GPS navigation.
Try downloaded Papago, but showing error as couldnt locate map in SD external storage....
And if using GPS navigation, is it internet connection is a must ? Can it be work offline ?

Thanks for all the help smile.gif

Someone mind to answer my queries please smile.gif
Thanks

And ya, i got one more problem in here..
Do you guys keep on getting problem on the line disconnection while talking ?
I keep on getting this problem...
Shouldnt be the line problem, coz before changing phone, doenst have this problem..
Well well, after googling for somet time, i notice that X10 proximity sensor is different from Nokia..
As for Nokia, it will turn off the screen but seems that for X10 it will just disable the keypad.
And a lot of ppl is complaining that their X10 proximity sensor doesnt work properly as it suppose to.
Anyone is facing the same problem ?
Is it X10 doenst support flash player ? Or i couldnt locate it ?

ok. do tell the result afterward. by the way, once u install the update, the phone might be a bit laggy at first. let it for an 30 min or so, it will be better. i would recommend to make sure the battery is fully charge b4 the update begin. and once the update is finish, either u left it for about 30 min or u can switch the phone off for bout 1 minute thn on it and left it for 30 min or so. either way oso can. but its solely ur decision.  tongue.gif

Wanna ask about the data connection.
In order to use MMS, is it that we must allow the data connection ?
I disable it because sometimes will accidenlty drain the data and the bill will be WOW...

one charged usin the charger
one charged usin the multicharger
for mms
u need data connection
download apndroid from market
it can disable data bt can let mms get thru
its better if u sign up for a data package
the sellin point for smartphones
is the connectivity
*
actually the reason i bought smartphone is not bcoz of the usage.. Its only the design.. smile.gif
Anyway, hotspot is avaiable almost everywhere...so i dont think a data plan is neccessary for me...
Is it the logo of "H" will appear whenever we use to phone data connection ?
Im a digi user...
