even the 3200es would be nice tongue.gif

i see some forumers selling Sony AVR ES series, brought in from somewhere else.... quite tempting with the low price as ES is suppose to be the high end series. but warranty may be of a concern...

still wondering if it is a good buy...

US stocks for sure as it requires a step down transformer.
are those ES even selling here in malaysia? could sony service centre even reset their protection mode if it's not selling here? do they have the service manual for it if it's for US market?

what would happen if should the ES goes into protection say, if you accidentally shorted the speaker terminal? how to reset if sony service centre don't even have the service manual?

for ur first question
its possible

2nd question
i dun understand much

pionner amp only hav 1 hdmi output
all ur composite, component, hdmi video input is out thru the pionner hdmi output
u must set it
it doesnt auto detect

when im usin my old 519 its quite easy
bt when im usin my new 919 its harder abit

so i trust ur 819 can also do it
just u need to check the manual
cuz i think not all the models r the same

bt u can try go to ur home menu
then system setup
then input setup
after all is done
make sure u r in the right input
example would b
if u plug ur composite at tv/sat
then change ur input to tv/sat

tat is how i did it wit the 919

wit the 519 there r no home menu on the remote
so its just plug in the cables n change to the correct input

actually, it just one question ...
i'm just bad in explaining it .

reading your reply, I just realise that my receiver too has a home menu to access system setup ...
the on the input assign, there're 2 set of component that can be choose between BD, TV and DVR ...
my current setting is 'OFF' for the 2 component input ..

I change the component input setting to TV and DVR respectively, but there's no change in the output ...

the output still need the yellow rca cable to the TV although i had already installed hdmi cable from avr to tv. currently there's no view from my hdmi media player ... plz help

Actually, it depends on your Media player, usually you will need to set it for either HDMI or component out, Some sets can do both, but why settle for component when you have HDMI?

Before you change the setting, grab the manual book, usually for models like this there is a button on the Remote to select the video output.
Just in case you get a blank screen, you know which button to push.

If I'm not mistaken, after you connect the HDMI cable, press the 'TVOUT' (9) on your Xtreamer Pro's remote control. Press it a few times to get the HDMI to output signals

that's an idea, but if I directly connect media player through hdmi to tv, there's no problem. but still tried it though, still there's no output from receiver for media player.

reading vxs819 manual is not much help. I must say its not really comprehensive.

what i can do now, for video: media player > hdmi > tv
audio : media player > RCA > receiver > speaker

You can always use an optical cable for you Audio output...the difference between audio connectors:
RCA -> Stereo or Dolby ProLogic II
Optical -> Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1
HDMI -> Dolby TrueHD and DTSHDMA.

But it depends on your Movie file as well. If you movie is encoded with DD, it will not give you DTrueHD even though you use a HDMI cable for the sound.

yesterday went to SENQ to audition 2 Pioneer configurations;

1. 820+S3 speakers system (RM6399)
2. LX72+S7 speakers system (RM16999)

I must say, LX72+S7 veli nice lor..... but price tag of RM16999 really needs re-consideration... hehe

Thanks for the reply. Their website is all flash but no content though. Not helpful for people who want to see what they got.
