QUOTE(rstusa @ Oct 7 2010, 07:18 PM) azbro, thanx for the prompt highlighted point. Now i saw it, so does the VSX-520-K come with a set with Pioneer speakers? No...it does not come with speakers..its just a separate component..But, ppl who know pioneer with go to shops to ask around if there are special packages for it...sometimes, even neighborhood electrical shop giving good price. Maybe the taukeh knows the Pioneer agent...or..to cut things short: PM this guy http://forum.lowyat.net/user/281910 If you are really serious in getting it...check the homepage and location...get his number and start the deal. So far his prices are one of the best. But you can also do your own homework and go to electronic shops before giving him a call. |

True as of October 7th, 2010. Today may be different.
I saw Jaya Jusco in MidValley KL is having a Pioneer corner (promo space). They have priced the VSX-1020-K for RM2999. It comes with a 5.1 satellite speaker system from Infinity. Probably their entry level speakers but it's still a good deal. fuad |

RM2999 VSX-1020-K with 5.1 speaker? You sure or not? I saw pioneer website only VSX-1020-K without speaker selling RM3599.

It doesn't have the heft of Polk satellites so it's probably not a decent satellite speakers. But if you're starting at zero and you want a 5.1 setup with a very good receiver, this deal is too great to pass up.QUOTE(azbro @ Oct 8 2010, 12:25 PM) Indeed. I told somebody about this deal who had just bought the 1020 last week. He was screaming mad.fuad |

Depends on you...First lets look at the AVR...VSX-1020 will beat VSX 820 hands down...you can't really compare high range and mid range AVR. 1020 has more setting and inputs to play with...and should give a better sound with all that frills. Speakers...those Infinity Speakers are just an excuse to bump up the sales of the 1020 to make it more attractive for people. If you are kaki HT....I would go for the 1020 set and ditch those Infinity Speakers for something worthy of the AVR. If you wan the basic stuff and probably would never think of upgrading again for the next few years...take the RS77B But first...go to Jaya Jusco in MidValley to see what the commotion is all about.....but as usual...do a little homework and bring along a list....Pioneer amps like 3~4 year ago models are still selling in the market....ppl who never do homework are sure to buy them and regret later Bro..you need to make a shortlist and go around shops. QUOTE(azbro @ Oct 8 2010, 03:25 PM) Depends on you... Am interested to upgrade my 4-year old Pioneer VSX-516 AV amp. Used it mainly for movies and Astro B and occasionally for music. Have several replacement models in mind like Pioneer VSX-1020K, Onyko 608, Denon 1911, so need advice on which one is a better choice.First lets look at the AVR...VSX-1020 will beat VSX 820 hands down...you can't really compare high range and mid range AVR. 1020 has more setting and inputs to play with...and should give a better sound with all that frills. Also, does the video up-scalers (Anchor Bay or Faroudja) in these AVR improve PQ considerably? |
