..and you might wanna try using the stereo mode for stereo input

To my experience, Pure Direct is the best for music. But, don't expect it to sound like a integrated amp lah

If you wanna know what is old model and what is new model very simply...

The latest AVR have '20' at the end instead of '19'. Example 819 now become 820 oledi, so what even package they come in, check the AVR first.

Actually, for DTS-HD/Dolby TrueHD..if you want an AVR that has more settings for this..you should get 920 model...from what I read..820 model is bare basic HD audio.

Tell me the source of the HDaudio...is it a bluray player?...what model?

Sony BDP-S370 bluray player with full hd 1080p bluray disc, or sometimes i'll play the video file with trueHD sound in my media player.
